And what a Friday it looks to be…

The dark clouds are moving in slowly, there’s a line of them outside of my office window. I think it’s beautiful in a way. A little unknown fact about me, I Love Storms!! I do. And I can feel the energy building up inside of me. The migraine is slowly receding. So it’s looking to be a beautiful day for me.

and one small lil teeny rant; If you have ‘unlimited’ data, how can you reach a limit?? I’m not able to post on twitter, facebook or even here from my phone. waaah 😦 the wifi in the building is centralized to one location and it blocks the fun stuff, i.e. facebook and twitter. 😛

And I’m looking at my gravatar, think I need to change it… oops random thought there. lol

the calendars have all been posted, and I’m not going to password protect them. I believe we’re all adults here. If something offends you, then don’t look. Otherwise, enjoy! 🙂

till later, Have an Awesome Friday!!

I’ll be posting the completed calendars later today. mchels photo blog

Till later, have a beautiful day.

And woohoo I accomplished my goal for the holiday weekend. I did nothing! Well you know, nothing majorly important. Still did the Domestic Goddess Gig, and I tried to lay out and get sun burnt. Okay, yes, no tanning is bad for you. And getting sun burnt is very bad for you. But honestly, I just wanted to sit outside, soak up some of the heat and read peacefully.

Saturday was the day, I slathered on some sunblock, yes it was cloudly overhead, but you can actually get burnt on cloudy days. The UV A/B rays still come through the clouds. Owies!! So wear your sunscreen on cloudy days. But it was nice and warm out, grabbed a book, my ipod and headphones and some water. Had the ipod set to classical, the book was the newest by Yasmine Galenorn of the Otherworld series. And ahhhhh! It was peaceful! And I didn’t fall asleep and get burnt.

After that nice break, I went inside, and we had a mini movie marathon, Adam Sandler was the actor and we watched Grownups, Hotel Transylvania, and Little Nicky.

I think I went to bed around 1 am. And then on Sunday, it was pretty much a repeat of Saturday. Except I stayed inside as it was a little rainy, so I finished my book on the couch. And then being someone that doesn’t really do the whole relaxation thing well. I grabbed my iPad and started working on June’s photo calendars. I had planned to do four of them for various groups I belong to on Facebook. One of Joe Flanigan, Paul McGillion, Kavan Smith and then one for my secret group. The reference model I use for Briana, Alice Goodwin- you might have heard of her. She’s pretty popular with the UK ppl, she’s a model for Zoo magazine and their website. Very lovely woman.

Then I took a nap, because naps are good for you. And spent the rest of the day being lazy and watching Stargate SG:1 episodes. Research, seriously, I’m doing a story in the Stargate Universe, and I’m thorough on my research. LOL 😀

Monday, slept in. Number one priority there. I’m usually up around 4 am. An hour and a half before my alarm goes off. I lie there and just do some meditation as the alarm starts it’s cadence. Then I start moving around. It’s nice just lying there and letting my thoughts get some focus before taking on the world. I did work on the calendars some more. I even had them finished by late afternoon. And that was even with me distracting myself. “Ooooh, I need this. No wait, maybe that.” I have the cutest arguments in my head with myself when working on creative stuff. LOL 😛 But Monday was a true do nothing day! And for once, I didn’t feel guilty about it. I’m used to doing stuff every day, and yesterday I didn’t do anything but what I wanted. I actually ran out of time doing nothing. LOL I was just starting to work on re-editing my outline for the story I’m working on, and noticed it was time for bed. Yeah, that 4 am comes awfully early. And I’m on days this week, so I needed some sleep. oooh forgot, I also posted some stuff on my deviant art page. I was finally able to get the iPad and the site to work together for a change. LOL

All in all, it was a nice relaxing weekend, no real drama, no whiny stuff. Just quiet and peaceful. Well for me, it was quiet and peaceful. LOL Hubs was busy doing yard stuff, and work stuff himself. And he had drama. But I’m keeping my mouth shut, and not saying those four little words (I told you so.). Because honestly, I feel bad that what happened happened. But sometimes people have to experience things on their own. No matter how much you want to protect them from the same painfulness you might have had when you went through something similar. ~le sigh~

I hope ya’ll had a wonderful weekend.
For those that watch the greatest spectacle in Racing, hope it was good! I know that Brazil’s Tony Kanaan won. And you know you watch a lot of Science Fiction when the name reminds you of a character in one of the shows. LOL Congratulations to him!!

Have a beautiful day! Stay safe!
And for those in Indiana, I love this website for my weather!
Paul Poteet I watch his video every morning. And if you’re on Facebook, he’s there too! Giving his updates. Check Paul out. (No, I’m not a sponsor lol)

title is from a facebook post I did yesterday, and received some funny comments…

anywho, it’s been a week… I really haven’t felt like writing. 😦 Which is sad for me. Rarely do I feel like that. But when dealing with things that I deal with it, sometimes I need a breather.

It’s not been bad. Busy, maybe?

And I can’t talk about it. so…”Let’s keep moving.”

I’ve come up with a brilliant idea for my uniform, and I’d like to have it done by the time Gen Con is here. Debut, anyone? LOL 😀

And I’m going to remain tight lipped about it for now, as I’ve never seen any like what I’m planning. So… mum’s the word! 😉

It’s still pretty out, it’s raining a bit, and hopefully the weather system passes through, my sinus migraine is starting to get a little annoying, it’s still at a 3, but it’s trying to form into a full blown migraine at any moment. I’ve been trying to stay stress free, HA! So I’ve been reading some Stargate:Atlantis fanfic, and I found a really cute story. Still reading, so at the mo, it’s cute. Depends on how they end it, if I’ll share it or not with my friends. And that reminds me, omg! I’ve read two or three really amazing stories, spelling errors aside, if the story is ‘that’ good, I’ll ignore spelling issues. Only to come to the next chapter, and it’s NOT Complete!! OMG!! I want to know what’s happened?
I can’t even figure out which way it’d go in my brain to calm myself down, they really had some brilliant evil characters that I can’t wrap my brain around. ARRRGH! I’ve written the author, please continue! I’ve got to find out how this ends.

Which then makes me feel guilty, as I have posted a story on Plot Bunny that is a wip… I really need to get back to the wip’s and re-write a few bits, and then see if my co-writer wants to write. And I’ve been trying to coax my one bunny out to write on the challenge fic I’m working on. but like me, he just wants to veg a bit longer. So I’m not going to force it. Forcing yourself to write, never ends up in a good way for me. But perhaps… just perhaps… I might go out this weekend and find a nice spot to do some writing. The old pen to paper writing, that always seems to help. I’ve always preferred ink to digital, there’s just something really relaxing to me about writing longhand across a blank sheet of paper. 😀 Plus I get to doodle in the margins. LOL 😀

Have a beautiful Thursday! Donate to the Red Cross if you can for the families in Oklahoma. Again, I’m not a journalist, and you’re already undated with all the news.

Peace! ~*~

oooh pretty colors!

We were huge Disney girls growing up. The new OPI collaboration is inspired by the our favourite tiny mouse – Minnie! The Couture de Minnie collection is filled with red hues, pop of pinks and a mix of textures.   Our little cousins freaked out when we told them about this line. The classic shades make this collection covetable by the young and older alike.

“Last summer, OPI created a ‘Vintage Minnie Mouse’ line. Women around the world fell in love with the fun and playful shades evocative of Minnie’s traditional look,” explains Suzi Weiss-Fischmann, OPI Executive VP & Artistic Director. “This year, OPI is exploring a different side of Minnie Mouse. TheCouture de Minnie collection draws inspiration from Minnie’s iconic style and incorporates trends most recently seen on the runways, from standout shades to fun textural elements.”

Ahhhh Massages & missed opportunities

Okay this was to be the subject for Monday evenings blog… and I still feel it’s relevant.

Massage therapy is a healthy thing to have done for you. It reduces stress, physically relaxes you, and it’s also beneficial in pain management. — if done correctly.

Now then a lot of massage therapists do not want to work on people with fibromyalgia. Why? Because they usually do deep tissue massage and um, not a lot of people with fibro want that done to them. For example, if I have deep tissue done to me, I better have the next week off- for recovery time. It hurts worse than it’s supposed to. Now for others it’s fine. Hubs can have deep tissue done on him, and it hurts for a bit, but then he’s ready to go.

Other issues I’ve had with some-not all- massage facilities, omg, I’m a fluffy girl. Yes, I’ve lost weight, however I’m not oh a skinny Minnie. And yes, I’ve been turned away from a massage therapist for being fluffy. Now then the one’s that have worked with me, I’ve noticed that it does help me lose weight and I’m more apt to be able to do some more physical activities in the days following a massage. I don’t overdo it, as sure I feel good, but I know what can happen to me if I do overdo it. 😦
Second issue I’ve had…this one is hilarious… I’m a girl. (Um sarcasm alert) OMG! No really? Yes, a few of the massage therapists do not want to work on a woman. Why? Their personal hangup’s is my number one guess.
Third issue and another funny reason IMO, noises. Yes, noises. You know it feels good when you are getting a massage, and honestly, some times people moan. It doesn’t mean it’s sexual! It means it feels good, and oh yes, do that again. IN A NON SEXUAL WAY!! Get over yourselves.

So if you are a fluffy girl with chronic pain issues, and make noises where do you go? Well you ask around. Do your research, do you just wing it? Some do, and I have while on vacation. But…that’s a one time deal. If you’re lucky enough to be able to get a massage session at least twice a month, you’re going to want someone that you can be with. This isn’t an intimate, intimate moment. But let’s face it. You’re pretty much nude, and this person is touching your body! Shouldn’t you want to look into it a bit?

If anyone would like to know the name of my therapist, she’s good, works with anyone, can be quiet not chatty-also a bonus. I tend to want to zone out when I’m in a session. And she’s inexpensive. So I could afford a massage once a week. And yes, I am looking into that possibility. 🙂 Leave a message and I’ll update her into the blog. My best research is a friend that I trust! Or in this case, hubs. He went to see her first, and like me he’s picky. Now, he’s not fluffy, he’s not a girl, and yes he is chatty, however he is critical of pressure and what muscle groups are focused on more than others. And when I went to see her, she is a trained reflexology therapist as well. OMG, she was able to massage my feet! That is Awesome! I have the most ticklish feet of anyone I know. And she was able to manipulate them and wow!

So any one have any other things you look for in a massage therapist.
Pain management for me is a big issue. I don’t take meds for my fibro. I use meditation and other coping skills that I teach. Pain however is vastly unique for the individual. There are days when I’m at a level 20, yeah… but I keep going. I’m um…stubborn. LOL I say tenacious. but whatever? So with a massage therapist to is able to work with someone with fibro is very important. They can help reduce the pain level to where it’s highly manageable for more than a day. I had my massage on Monday and the majority of my pain is at a 6. That is very manageable. Without any massages I’m higher than that. And the massage was on Monday, this is now Thursday, so for me, three days so far with a lower level of pain. That helps with your stress reduction, if you’re not in pain, your stress level automatically drops. It’s easier to deal with ‘issues’ when you’ve had enough sleep and aren’t in pain. Just FYI. (I’m a therapist, I know that!) LOL 😀

so that is Monday’s blog entry-and later today, we’ll see what else is stuck in the hamster wheel I like to call my brain. LOL 😛 okay okay, it’s more like an amusement park in there. A good sense of humor is also vital to being a Healthy Human Being.

speaking of humor, watch the photo blog for some fun pix from me! I downloaded the Buddy Poke app for the iPhone/iPad and I’m having a blast playing around with it. Yes, you should play as an adult, it helps keep you young, healthy and active. If what you do isn’t physical, okay, it still keeps your brain active.

and one more healthy tidbit; Drink your H2O aka Water!! The temps may not be in the heat index yet, but why wait, hydration is good for you. Fights fatigue. 🙂

Till later, Have an awesome Day! YOU Are AWESOME! Yes you are!!!

Some days…

Some days I feel emotionally overwhelmed…however I remember something I read once; slow down, breathe and carry on. So I take my time, focus on one thing at a time & keep moving. Everything that I can do, gets done. Maybe not as quickly as others believe it should happen, however it gets done. And then the moment I feel like …sighs… Is what I’m doing making a difference?

And then, I stop to pick up a few items at Walmart and I run into someone and they tell their family; this is Michelle, she helped me. And then it hits me, as I’m being hugged by their family. Yes. What I do matters.

So even with emotionally charged days, and when I’m moving at sublight, and not hyperdrive, ( remember scifi geek) it still matters.

This isn’t the blog I intended to write today, but this is the one that matters to my fellow human health workers; Nurses, Res Techs, Therapists & Social Workers. Thank you, we matter! Because we don’t always hear it, or feel it.

So the other day there was a tragedy here Sad

It’s now part of the public record, so I can share it, and put down in words some of my feelings.

As most of you know, I’m a therapist, specifically a crisis therapist. And that means I’m one of those available for the kids to talk with. This has been an emotionally exhausting few days for me. And for the community!

So time to switch it around and turn this tragedy into something positive! Bullying has been around since I was a kid. Not to the extent that I’d think of killing myself. I just don’t understand why there appears to be such a huge difference in how I learned how to cope with it. I know everyone doesn’t learn the same coping skills, and I think my siblings and I benefited from being Military Brats. Monster’s two & three your opinion?? :p

The attention that is now here on bullying, while brought on by a terrible tragedy, is letting parents know what their children are going through now. I hope that the majority react positively. I also hope that the area schools get better informed and start being pro-active. The person being bullied needs help, but so do those that are doing the bullying. It’s a two way street, and everyone needs to be aware of that!

I’ll save my personal feelings for later…it tugs on my heart strings when I deal with kids that can’t think of any other solution than suicide… Suicide is a permanent solution, to a temporary problem. If you are having these thoughts, please call this number: call 1-800-273-8255 they are the National Suicide Prevention Lifeline.

Have a wonderful Wednesday! to my friends that are posting hugs and pix on my facebook wall, thank you so very very much! It truly really is appreciated. HUGS!

Happy Monday! let’s get this party started [_]>

What do I want? Caffeine!

When do I want it? NOW! LOL [_]> yes, the smartass is strong in this one today!

so let’s recap the weekend:

May the Fourth be with you; and it was also free comic book day! I ran some errands, picked up an outfit I ordered online for Hubs at Hot Topic. For the upcoming May 18th Star Trek “Into Darkness” movie. I’ll be in uniform at the 16 IMAX in Hamilton with my Klingon brethren of the ship; IKS pongHa’lu’. Sorry no, not a Klingon. I’m just lucky enough to serve on a Klingon ship! 😀
I’m also working on putting my uniform together. 🙂 OH yes, I am a nerd! DUH! LOL snorts

So I went to a new comic book store in Indy, I’d heard good reviews on it, well those reviewers must’ve been dudes! You know, I really really thought the whole gender stereotype about which gender reads comics was dead! OOPS! I was apparently wrong. OMG! I didn’t tag the store in my Facebook feed, because honestly I’m not giving this store any advertising.

Then I went to Keystone at the Crossing, love ❤ Brighton. I had bought a hair clip um, maybe five years ago. It was my favorite! And it broke. 😦 But they exchanged it for me, no problems. And I got cookies and coffee too! LOL 😀
After that it was Castleton Square to pick up hubs cool outfit. And *wave* hi to a friend that was behind the mall. LOL Gotta love social media. Virtual waves. 🙂 After that it was time to fuel up the car, and me. Starbucks!! Woot! Yes, I know I have an issue with caffeine. If I don’t get it, it’ll be an issue. 😛
Drove back home, stopped by Walgreen’s to grab a few items, and say HI to some friends. And then I waited till Hubs could take me to the local comic book store. I can never find it. Course it doesn’t help that he takes a different route every time. The name of the store is Temporal Comics and Sci-Fi, so he teases me, it changes location every time. LOL And no, I’m not directionally challenged. I know that Ft Wayne is up/North, Indy is down/South, NY is East, and LA is West. LOL Drives me bonkers when ppl here in North Central Indiana say they are going up to Indy this weekend. NO no no, you’re going DOWN! oi! LOL 😛
Anywho got my free comic, and a rubber bracelet thingie too! And bonus, he’s ordering a special order for me too!! Awesome!
So the organization thingie that Hubs had planned for me to do on Saturday, nope didn’t happen! oops!

Cinco de Maio; And the awesome outfit I got Hubs, didn’t fit. OMG! He’s lost a ton of weight, but the shirt was cut to small… so I ended up going to my ‘local’ Hot Topic in Muncie. And woohoo! It’s like cheers there for moi. I walk in, and they say hi Michelle! sweet!! 🙂
Oh back up, I got to the mall to early, forgot it was Sunday, and that they didn’t open till Noon. So I was in, walking with the mall walkers, cracking a few of them up. And then found a nice place to sit, read my digital book, and cheer on the walkers. I had done five laps. I was good. LOL 😛 So back to the story, I was able to return his outfit, and they refunded the money with no issues. And then…I started browsing, yeah, that’s dangerous in Hot Topic, it was buy one, get one half off. So I um…yeah. I’m the proud owner of the new Wonder Woman mini messenger bag, as well as getting a Tardis keychain for one of Hub’s friends. She loves the Eleventh Doctor. So that should make her a happy camper!
After that, my local comic book store was closed-boo! So I went to go get my nails done. I have to have them pretty for the movie. And natch, I needed my hair cut as well. Decided to keep it long, and try something different. Texted my stylist to see if she could fit me in Sunday for a color enhancement- aka- color my grays. Yeah, I’m not going gray gracefully. 😛
Then went to Starbucks…what? It was right there, fueled up the car, and drove back to Marion. Where I went to Walgreen’s again, and for the make up girlies, forget Mac’s Paintpots, time to switch to Maybelline’s Tattoo eyeshadows, you can wear alone, or add your shadow over it and watch the color pop! Not to mention that the price difference is very noticeable and this week at Walgreen’s, it’s buy one, get one half off! If you’re a rewards member, and why aren’t you? You earn 2,500 points on each one. So I got 5,000 points on my card, and saved about $20 for my eyeshadow primer. Or if it’s a lazy morning, the color looks good on it’s on. I’m wearing Bronze this morning, and it looks great by itself. 🙂
My stylist got a hold of me, and while she quit the salon she worked at, she was an independent renting a booth. She wasn’t getting enough time there. And so she decided to barter with me, for the color enhancement. I’ll be doing some flyers for her, and bought her Chinese take out. She colored my hair back to it’s beautiful brunette. And then after all of that, I decided to be socialable on facebook. And my flygirlie friends had me spewing my soda three times with the pix and comments that they made. I needed that belly laugh! Heaven help if we ever get in the same room together. LOL
And no, that organizing thing, dang. Still didn’t happen! lol oops!

And now to today; Revenge of the Sixth! LOL 😛
It’s Kavan Smith’s birthday, aka Major Lorne of Stargate Atlantis. And I’ll be posting some pix later on the photoblog to celebrate with my flygirlies!! 😀
And now, it’s time to go find some more caff, and look at my schedule for the day, and see what’s what.

OH Hubs just texted me, I have till Friday to do some of that organizing thing he wants me to do. wooooooo! oh yay, be still my heart. 😀 We have a contractor coming out to look at the Water Heater, and natch it’s in my closet. Oh well, I can go back through the clothes again and get rid of some more stuff. After losing the weight, a lot doesn’t fit me anymore. So time to get rid of it. But but it’s purple and sparkly….LOL 😛

I hope ya’ll have an awesome day! It’s another beautiful day in North Central Indiana, I have blue skies, little cloud cover, and it’s 66 degrees Fahrenheit.

The Casual Way to Discuss Movies

Just something I was thinking about . . .

Not trying to persuade you to think my way, but to make you think period.
