So the other day there was a tragedy here Sad

It’s now part of the public record, so I can share it, and put down in words some of my feelings.

As most of you know, I’m a therapist, specifically a crisis therapist. And that means I’m one of those available for the kids to talk with. This has been an emotionally exhausting few days for me. And for the community!

So time to switch it around and turn this tragedy into something positive! Bullying has been around since I was a kid. Not to the extent that I’d think of killing myself. I just don’t understand why there appears to be such a huge difference in how I learned how to cope with it. I know everyone doesn’t learn the same coping skills, and I think my siblings and I benefited from being Military Brats. Monster’s two & three your opinion?? :p

The attention that is now here on bullying, while brought on by a terrible tragedy, is letting parents know what their children are going through now. I hope that the majority react positively. I also hope that the area schools get better informed and start being pro-active. The person being bullied needs help, but so do those that are doing the bullying. It’s a two way street, and everyone needs to be aware of that!

I’ll save my personal feelings for later…it tugs on my heart strings when I deal with kids that can’t think of any other solution than suicide… Suicide is a permanent solution, to a temporary problem. If you are having these thoughts, please call this number: call 1-800-273-8255 they are the National Suicide Prevention Lifeline.

Have a wonderful Wednesday! to my friends that are posting hugs and pix on my facebook wall, thank you so very very much! It truly really is appreciated. HUGS!
