Support or ????

I’m writing in Nano officially this year, so I thought I’d join a few support groups, and honestly…. I’m not so sure that they are very ‘supportive.’

From what I’ve seen a lot of people haven’t started yet. Which, I totally get that. I had a late start myself. What with the medical issues, and four outlines- I narrowed it down to two, and then viola the one I’m writing on.
However…. there is venting, and then there is whining. And honestly it sounds like a lot of whiners! I’m not so sure I’m going to stay in the groups much longer if that continues.

I’m looking for support- I’m having a brain bubble, help? I’m having an issue with something or other, help? And I know it’s still early. So I’m ignoring the whining the best I can.

Are there any others out there or is it just me? I feel for my private group, poor punkins are hearing all about the nano whether they want to or not. But at least I’m doing so in a humorous vein. And then I go back to writing when they help me out. Now that’s support!! At least IMO! 😀

Have a great day! if you’re doing nano- get writing.

King Tut Day 2013
November 4, 2013 in the World

King Tut Day is celebrated on November 04, 2013. It celebrates the date of the discovery of King Tutankhamen’s Tomb. Tutankhamun was the 11th pharaoh of Dynasty 18 of the New Kingdom in Ancient Egypt, making his mummy over 3,300 years old. The discovery of the tomb as a whole was one of the most significant and famous archeological discoveries in modern times. The tomb was discovered on November 4, 1922.

Since the discovery of Tutankhamun’s mummy, there has been a lot of speculation and theories on the exact cause of death, which until recent studies had been hard to prove with the evidence and data available. While it was a widely debated topic for many Egyptologists, it had also spread to the general public as popular culture has come up with many conspiracy theories that played out in movies, TV shows, and fictional books.

Russian Unity Day
November 4, 2013 in Russia

Russian Unity Day is celebrated on November 04, 2013. Unity Day (also called Day of People’s Unity or National Unity Day) is national holiday in Russian Federation. It commemorates the popular uprising which expelled Polish–Lithuanian occupation forces from Moscow in November 1612, and more generally the end of the Time of Troubles and the Polish–Muscovite War (1605–1618). The day’s name alludes to the idea that all classes of Russian society united to preserve Russian statehood when there was neither a tsar nor a patriarch to guide them. In 1613 tsar Mikhail Romanov instituted a holiday named Day of Moscow’s Liberation from Polish Invaders. It was celebrated in the Russian Empire until 1917, when it was replaced with a commemoration of the Russian Revolution. Unity Day was reinstituted by the Russian Federation in 2005, since when the year 1612 has been celebrated instead of 1917 every November 4. The day is also the feast day of the Russian Orthodox icon of Our Lady of Kazan.
