International Women’s Day
March 8, 2014 in the World

The International Women’s Day is observed on March 08, 2014. It is a day to annually celebrate the respect, appreciation and love towards women and was originally called “International Working Women’s Day”.

The first IWD celebration took place in 1911. More than one million people in Austria, Denmark, Germany, and Switzerland attended rallies and events to campaign for women’s rights and to end gender discrimination.

In different regions the focus of the celebrations ranges from general celebration of respect, appreciation and love towards women to a celebration for women’s economic, political and social achievements.

Started as a Socialist political event in some regions the day lost its political flavor, and became simply an occasion for men to honor their mothers, wives, friends, and colleagues.

We hope you do not celebrate this day, and that it is not popular. If you do, please recognize that there is a big difference between being nasty and being cruel.

Just be yourself today! But think about it: most people would be happy if you don’t celebrate that day …
