If you happen to be a gambler or have the courage to gamble around with your luck, then today is the right day for you. For those who do not know, it is GO FOR BROKE DAY! It is a day on which you actually gamble around by putting on line all that you have and thus, giving yourself a chance to win (or lose) something extraordinary! It can be a huge amount of money, a love relationship, a new job or starting a project that involves a lot of risk.
There is no solid information about the origin or creation of “Go for Broke day.” However, according to history, between 5 and 6 April 1945 during the 2nd Word War, the 442nd Regimental Combat Team attacked Nazi mountainside positions in Italy that resulted in Nazi Gothic Line breaking up in a single day.
The 442nd Regimental Combat Team of the United States Army was a regimental size fighting unit composed mainly of American soldiers of Japanese descent who had volunteered to fight in World War II. The 442nd is considered to be the most decorated infantry regiment in the history of the United States Army. ”Go for Broke” was the 442nd Regimental Combat Team motto.

National Caramel Day
April 5, 2014 in the USA
It’s National Caramel Day! Americans began making sugary syrups in the 1600s, but the delicious chewy caramel we know and love today was a more recent innovation. Caramel candy emerged during the 18th century and quickly became one of the most popular sweets on the market. In fact, Milton Hershey’s first business was the Lancaster Caramel Company!
Caramel is made with butter, brown and white sugar, milk or cream, and vanilla. It is usually enjoyed as an ice cream topping, a candy filling, or on its own. You can also find caramel flavored puddings, popcorn, desserts, and coffee.
To celebrate National Caramel Day, enjoy some of your favorite caramel candies or make a batch of homemade caramel!
