The ONE important person I’m thankful for!

Hubs! 😀 ❤

Supportive, and extremely goofy like me. What a pair. LOL We complement each other pretty well, when we’re on the same page.

These photos are from Wizard World Chicago a few years ago, but you get to see his personality in these images. 😀

He was pretty happy I asked her to pose with him, Harley Quinn is his favorite comic book person. And this cosplayer had the the newest look!

Plus she was sweet enough to pose with him! lol 😀

We really celebrate Halloween more like Christmas… and this year he really surprised me but good!

He commissioned a ring for me. We owned the amethyst and he had been trying for a while for a design. Well he went to our favorite

jewelry designer, Montezuma Jewelry in Muncie, Indiana and spoke with him about an idea he had.

The ring is rose gold, black hills gold and white gold. These pictures do not do justice to how it really looks in person. I’ve always liked Black hills gold and Rose Gold. Hubs knows I’m an Earth sign, and well… yes, this ring incorporates my sign and his birthstone-the amethyst. It truly is a one of a kind piece, done just for me. It hasn’t left my finger yet. LOL 😀

This truly is a large ring-the amethyst is large! and the ring was designed around it. Wish I could take a better shot of the side, so you could see the detailed work.

simply beautiful…

And well…after that wonderful surprise at lunch! We went to wander the mall. Muncie Mall, I like it! It has the stores I love; Books a Million, Hot Topic, FYE and a few others. 😀 And imagine my surprise when he found me this cute little trinket. A memory necklace that is a Hello Kitty 40th Anniversary edition. Aww! Trick or Treat! lol 😉 It has Chococat,  my Melody  and Keroppi too! YAY!!

Hello Kitty memory piece

Then at Books a million a cup of coffee in my new pink Lucky Kitty mug! awwww!

At FYE we bought two movies, woot! I got to pick! LOL Monster High Freaky Fusion, and X-Men; days of future past.

I watched Freaky Fusion last night before I finally fell asleep, tonight it’s X-Men movie night! 😀

monster high freaky fusion

At Hot Topic he found the Wonder Woman Funko figure I’ve been looking for. Woot!!

I tried to get him the Harley, he said no…. hmmm??

Pop wonder woman

And SQUEEE!! a new TokiDoki purse!! Small size. He keeps trying to get me to go smaller and smaller. LOL

Big enough to carry my phone, and the necessities for work.

AND ZOMG! a TokiDoki scarf!! SQUEEE!

Yes, I am a child when it comes to TOKIDOKI! lol

OH not to worry! He got a nice Halloween present too! I’ll try to snap a photo of it later.

We splurged a bit. But. Occasionally you need to. I’ll be giving up a few things in exchange for the fun we had yesterday, but it’s worth it. He gave up some things to get my ring done. 😀 ❤

It’s all about balance and perspective! And yes, I’m thankful for him and that we were able to celebrate the day together.
I truly hope ya’ll had a beautiful day with your family!

xoxo ❤

LOL oops…Hello!

I’ve decided to not participate in NANOWRIMO this month… but that doesn’t mean I won’t be writing. I’ve decided to not stress myself over a word count. I’d rather write on my own, and try to do something new this month. I’ll be signing up for another month long challenge, another type of creativity. 😀

And so this month is known as Thanksgiving month in the States, me….I’ve decided to use this month to give thanks for many ideas, people and other stuff. So HELLO November! I’m thankful to be sitting inside my house and typing up this blog entry. 😀 One thing a day that I’m thankful for, I’d love to see others try this challenge for a month. You can blog it like me, or leave a comment on my entries every day! 😀

so for now…. time to catch up on some CBS shows thank you, CBS.com and finish up the month calendar! And perhaps do some writing on a few works in progress. 😀 Have a beautiful first day of November. I am thankful for you as well.

World Vegan Day
November 1, 2014 in the World
The World Vegan Day is celebrated on November 01, 2014. The day was established in 1994 by Louise Wallis, then President & Chair of the Vegan Society UK. The day is observed annually. The year 2011 marks the 67th anniversary of the term “vegan” and thus the verbally clarified concept of “veganism” as well as the establishment of the Vegan Society.
Veganism is the practice of abstaining from the use of animal products, particularly in diet, as well as an associated philosophy that rejects the commodity status of sentient animals. A follower of veganism is known as a vegan. The term “vegan“ was coined in England in 1944 by Donald Watson. In 1951 the British Vegan Society extended the definition of veganism to mean “the doctrine that man should live without exploiting animals”.
An animal product is any material derived from animals, including meat, poultry, seafood, eggs, dairy products, honey, fur, wool, and silk. Other commonly used, but perhaps less well known, animal products are beeswax, bone char, bone china, carmine, casein, cochineal, gelatin, isinglass, lanolin, lard, rennet, shellac, tallow, whey, and yellow grease. Ethical vegans will not use animal products for clothing, toiletries, or any other reason.

Pão-por-Deus 2014
November 1, 2014 in Portugal
Pão-por-Deus takes place on November 01, 2014. The Pão-por-Deus (“Bread in the name of God”) celebration is a Portuguese tradition celebrated all over Portugal by children up to the age of 10 or older. It is the soulmass-cakes given to the poor on All Saints Day. From early in the morning (8 or 9 am) children meet together and walk around the neighborhood, knock at all doors and local stores and say “Pão-por-Deus” to the adults they meet. People at home give them small gifts such as broas (small bread-like cakes flavored heavily with anise and nuts), chocolates, candy, nuts, fruit, or in some cases, money. At the local stores the offers are different. A store may give the children treats or a sample of a product they sell: bakers give a little bread, fruit stalls give some chestnuts, and so on. In the Azores the children are given a cake called “caspiada” during this ritual begging. The cakes have the shape of the top of a skull. The pão-por-deus or Santoro is the bread, or offering, that is given to the dead, the Molete or Samagaio is the bread, or offering, that is given when a child is born. There are records of the day of Pão-por-Deus in the 15th century. On 1 November 1755 in Lisbon, after the vast majority of the city’s residents lost everything to the Great Lisbon Earthquake the survivors had to ask for this bread in the neighbouring towns.

National Authors’ Day
November 1, 2014 in the USA
Celebrate literature in all its forms on Authors’ Day, and show your appreciation for the incredibly hard work put in by the authors behind your favourite writings.
In 1928, Nellie Verne Burt McPherson, president of the Bement, Illinois Women’s Club had an idea of setting aside a day to celebrate American authors.  McPherson was a teacher and throughout her life, an avid reader.  While she was recuperating in the hospital during World War I, she wrote a fan letter to fiction writer Irving Bacheller, telling him how much she enjoyed reading his story “Eben Holden’s Last Day A’ Fishin”.  Upon receiving her letter, Bacheller sent her an autographed copy of another story and it was then that McPherson realized that she would never be able to adequately thank him for his gift.  McPerson decided to show her appreciation by submitting an idea for a National Author’s Day to the General Federation of Women’s Clubs.  A resolution was passed declaring November 1 as a day to honor American writers.  The United States Department of Commerce recognized this day in 1949.
