Today’s thankful thought

I’m so thankful that I have a sense of humor. I had to go take care of something really important this morning. I ensured I had directions, easy to understand directions. However…and this is important, there were no landmarks in the directions. I’m fairly good with directions, I know that I go up to Fort Wayne-North, down to Indy-South, West to Illinois, and East to Ohio. But if you want me to get to a specific location, landmarks really help! 🙂    And here’s where that sense of humor comes in! So I’m following the directions, and next thing I know, I’m on the wrong road and halfway to Fort Wayne. When did 9 become 24 East???  Um. OOPS!  I turned around and finally made it to my destination with twenty minutes to spare. But I’m a horrible Type A, I was trying not to freak out a bit. And then I just started laughing, cause if it was going to happen it would be to me.  Plus I had to cut myself some slack, I’ve never been to this town before.

My sense of humor comes in handy a LOT! lol 😀

I wonder if other Type A personality people have the same issues, and if so, how do you cope with it?

***And another moment for my sense of humor! ***

So while I was driving back to my destination, I heard on the radio that Anderson, Indiana is having their Christmas parade, T H I S Saturday! Um what??? They will also be doing a Tree Lighting!  😛 Dudes! It’s not even Thanksgiving yet? And we’re already having a christmas parade and a tree lighting???!!!??? 😛

Yep, I like that saying! Still trying to figure out how to add Yule into it. 😀

Wednesday, the 12th of November, 2014 is the 316th day in 2014 and in the 46th calendar week.
General Events:
World Pneumonia Day
November 12, 2014 in the World
World Pneumonia Day takes place on November 12, 2014. World Pneumonia Day provides an annual forum for the world to stand together and demand action in the fight against pneumonia. Pneumonia is a preventable and treatable disease that sickens 155 million children under 5 and kills 1.6 million each year. This makes pneumonia the number 1 killer of children under 5, claiming more young lives than AIDS, malaria, and measles combined. Yet most people are unaware of pneumonia’s overwhelming death toll. Because of this pneumonia has been overshadowed as a priority on the global health agenda, and rarely receives coverage in the news media. World Pneumonia Day helps to bring this health crisis to the public’s attention and encourages policy makers and grassroots organizers alike to combat the disease. In spite of the massive death toll of this disease, affordable treatment and prevention options exist. There are effective vaccines against the two most common causes of deadly pneumonia, Haemophilus influenzae type B and Streptococcus pneumoniae. A course of antibiotics which costs less than $1(US) is capable of curing the disease if it is started early enough. The Global Action Plan for the Prevention and Control of Pneumonia (GAPP) released by the WHO and UNICEF on World Pneumonia Day, 2009, finds that 1 million children’s lives could be saved every year if prevention and treatment interventions for pneumonia were widely introduced in the world’s poorest countries.

World Architecture Day
November 12, 2014 in the World
Created in 2005 by the Union International des Architects (UIA), World Architecture Day is a day to show appreciation for the work architects do and to celebrate some of the great global architectural works.
Architecture is incredibly important and architects have the potential to shape all of our lives through their hard work. In addition, architecture plays an essential role in planning for the future, sustaining population growth and tackling a number of social problems.
Events are held in different locations every year, bringing architects, engineers, planners and developers together to showcase their work, discuss future projects, debate current issues and plan new business ventures. So if you work in the industry, why not go along and join in?
For those who do not work within the field of architecture, simply take a few moments out of your day to appreciate the architectural feats that you usually take for granted during your everyday life.

AFRMA Fancy Rat & Mouse Day
November 12, 2014 in the World
The American Fancy Rat and Mouse Association (AFRMA) was founded in 1983 and is a non-profit international club. Anyone that has an interest in rats or mice can be a member. The main purpose of AFRMA is to promote and encourage the breeding and exhibition of fancy rats and mice. It also educate the public on their positive qualities as companion animals and provide information on their proper care. Competition shows are held several times a year in Southern California. These shows are very similar to cat, rabbit, or dog shows. Judges evaluate the animals based on official standards for each type of rat or mouse.
