General Events:
Inconvenience Yourself Day
February 25, 2015 in the World
You know those days when you just can’t be bothered to get out of bed? Well, Inconvenience Yourself Day is not one of them. So, put on your happy face and go out there and be nice! The concept may have originated from Ms. Julie Thompson and it was meant to serve as an incentive for others to acknowledge their appreciation for acquaintances or strangers and to promote a respectful attitude and an attentive demeanour. We can all celebrate by simply opening a door for an old lady, giving up a seat to a pregnant lady, helping a child cross the street, stopping to ask if a tourist is lost and needs directions, offering to carry a suitcase up the stairs and generally making a small sacrifice. But most of all, we have to reflect on what others need and how we can help. It can make a big difference!

National Chocolate Covered Nuts Day
February 25, 2015 in the USA
Nuts have been a staple of the human diet for thousands of years. The ancient Greeks and Romans were fond of the walnut, Native Americans enjoyed the pecan, and the Chinese believed the hazelnut was one of the five sacred nourishments. People also believed that chocolate had divine properties.
The Aztecs and Mayans prepared drinking chocolate for all their sacred rituals. In the 17th century chocolate became a very fashionable drink throughout Europe and people soon learned that everything tastes better when it’s covered in chocolate. By the middle of the 19th century it was a common practice to dip items like pretzels, nuts, and fruits into melted chocolate.

National Pistol Patent Day
February 25, 2015 in the USA
Guns are dangerous weapons, so why do we have this day? Don’t get it wrong, Pistol Patent Day is only an occasion for people to register for a pistol patent, so that the using of pistol is put under control.
The history of Pistol Patent Day is back to 1836, when the first and only revolver in the world was patented by the United States Patent No.138. Since then, every year the U.S observes this day as a method to memorize an advanced policy to help control the number of pistols, which are being used in the whole country.
Samuel Colt invented the revolver, a pistol with multiple chambers for bullets.  He patented it in Europe in 1835, and in the United States in 1836.
