The Aztec New Year is the celebration of the new year according to the Aztec calendar. The date on which the holiday falls in the Gregorian calendar depends on the version of the calendar used, but it is generally considered to occur at sunrise on March 12. The holiday is observed in some Nahua communities in Mexico. To celebrate, ocote (pitch-pine) candles are lit on the eve of the new year, along with fireworks, drumming, and singing. Some of the most important events occur in Huauchinango, Naupan, Mexico City, Zongolica, and Xicotepec.

Sports events, trees planting and a number of other events are organized for Zambian youth on this day.Zambia is one of the less economically developed countries in the world. About 80% of its population lives in poverty. Young people are the largest part of the Zambian population, and it has its major problem – marginalization (social exclusion).
Youth Day in Zambia is a very important political and social holiday, that helps government show how its efforts help young people solve their problems. Another great importance of Youth Day is evaluation of the Zambian youth contribution into development of the country.
Street youth marches are traditionally organized on Youth Day. Youth organizations organize annual parades and try to attract public attention to juridical, economic and health problems, that youth faces every day.
Government and non-governmental organizations organize and support sports events and trees planing. Local leaders deliver speeches, that emphasize the role of the youth in growth of the nation. Different special laws concerning youth policies come into power on this day.

National Girl Scout Day

On this day in 1912, Juliette “Daisy” Gordon Low assembled a group of eighteen girls from Savannah, Georgia for the first ever Girl Scout meeting. Low believed that all girls should have the opportunity to develop physically, mentally, and spiritually. She organized service projects, outdoor adventures, and enrichment programs to get girls out of the house and into the community.
Today, over 3.2 million girls and adults are active Girl Scout members, and over 50 million women are Girl Scout alumnae. According to the mission statement of the organization, Girl Scouting builds girls of courage, confidence, and character, who make the world a better place.

Popcorn Lover’s Day is celebrated on March 12, 2015. It is the special day for popcorn lovers and is celebrated every year on the second Thursday in March. Popcorn is commonly eaten in movie theaters. This snack is usually served salted or sweetened. In North America, it is traditionally served salted, often with butter or a butterlike topping. However, sweetened versions, such as caramel corn and kettle corn, are also commonly available.
The salty snack was first eaten thousands of years ago and widely used in many cultures including the 16th century Aztec Indian ceremonies. Early explorers were fascinated by the use of toasting corn until it popped.
Nowadays, Americans consume 17 billion quarts of popped popcorn each year. The average American eats about 54 quarts.
