General Events:
Free Comic Book Day
May 2, 2015 in the World
Free Comic Book Day is observed annually on May 02, 2015. The event was established by Joe Field of Flying Colors Comics in Concord, California. He brainstormed the idea in his “Big Picture” column in the August 2001 issue of “Comics & Games Retailer” magazine. It is a promotional effort by the North American comic book industry to help bring new readers into independent comic book stores.
Free Comic Book Day has often been tied to the release of a major theatrical film adaptation of a well-known superhero property, in order to take advantage of the film’s heavy promotion and related press about the comic book medium. The first event took place in 2002, just a day after the opening of the first Spider-Man movie. However, successful events did not have specific date tie-ins to comics-related movie openings.
A comic book is a publication of comic art in the form of sequential juxtaposed panels that represent individual scenes. Panels are often accompanied by brief descriptive prose and written narrative, usually dialog contained in word balloons. The first comic book appeared in the United States in 1933 and was a reprinting of earlier newspaper comic strips.

Baby Day 2015
May 2, 2015 in the World
Baby Day takes place on May 02, 2015. As the name suggests, it celebrates babies. A baby is the very young offspring of a human. Babies cry as a form of basic instinctive communication. A crying baby may be trying to express a variety of feelings including hunger, discomfort, overstimulation, boredom, wanting something, or loneliness.
Studies have shown that babies who have been the recipients of positive touch experience more benefits as they develop emotionally and socially. Experiments have done with babies up to four months of age using both positive touch (stroking or cuddling) and negative touch (poking, pinching or tickling). The infants who received the positive touch cried less often and also vocalized and smiled more than the infants who were touched negatively. Babies who were the recipients of negative touching have been linked with emotional and behavioral problems later in life.
Babies have a primal need to be carried close to their mother’s body. They need constant physical contact for their first few weeks or months of life.
