Can a new wardrobe palette, make you feel better?

For years, I’ve always been drawn to the dark side of clothes, black, dark dark blue, grey. But lately, I’ve been purging my closet of those dark colors and adding in more lighter and brighter colors. I’ve even added in some… wait for it… pastels! IKR! 😉 LOL

However, since I’ve lightened up my wardrobe, I’ve lightened up my makeup, nails and my shoes too.  And it’s been interesting to see other people’s reactions to my changes. But here’s what I’ve noticed; I feel lighter and brighter. Like a weight I didn’t know existed has lifted. I’m curious now, has anyone else transformed their wardrobe and noticed a difference. Leave a comment, or let me know if you’re willing to try it. I’m curious. 😉

have a beautiful Monday!

General Events:
International Firefighters’ Day
May 4, 2015 in the World
International Firefighters’ Day takes place on May 04, 2015. It was instituted after proposal emailed out across the world on January 4, 1999 due to the deaths of five firefighters in tragic circumstances in a wildfire in Australia. May 4 used to be a traditional Firefighters’ Day in many European countries, because it is the day of Saint Florian, patron saint of firefighters.
One of the most significant symbols of International Fire Fighters Day is the red and blue ribbon. This ribbon is cut precisely five centimeters long and one centimeter wide, with the two separate colors conjoined at the top. JJ Edmonson chose red and blue because the red stood for the element of fire whereas the blue would represent the element of water. Coincidently, red and blue are also the colors recognized world-wide to signify emergency services; therefore, red and blue being the best choice of color to recognize an international holiday.
Fire prevention and the need for more intensive and thorough training is one of the main aspects of International Fire Fighters Day. Fire fighters and their agencies around the world are constantly stressing fire prevention: in schools, to the community, at public events, at assemblies and even to their own families. The safest way to keep fire fighters alive and home to their families is training.

National Renewal Day
May 4, 2015 in the USA
Today is a day for new beginnings as it is National Renewal Day, an “unofficial” national holiday which is annually celebrated on May 4th.
RENEWAL :  the state of being made new, fresh, or strong again : the state of being renewed.
Today may be about renewing an old friendship, a romantic relationship, distant family connections or maybe it is not about people at all.  It could be about refinishing an antique dresser that was passed down from your grandparents, or putting up new wallpaper or flooring  for a fresh look in your home.  This might  also be a day for a fresh new look for yourself, a time to try something different.
For  some people, National Renewal Day may be a day where they look at starting  fresh with the choices they are making in their life.  Along with that would be looking at freshening up or cleaning up their attitude and lifestyle to feel renewed.

International Respect for Chickens Day
May 4, 2015 in the World
United Poultry Concerns launched International Respect for Chickens Day on May 4th, 2005, urging everyone to do an ACTION of compassion for chickens on that day. This can range from writing a letter to the editor to tabling at a local mall to showing the movie Chicken Run to students, family and friends.
“International Respect for Chickens Day is a day to celebrate the dignity, beauty, and life of chickens and to protest against the bleakness of their lives in farming operations,” says UPC president Karen Davis. “Chickens are lively birds who have been torn from the leafy world in which they evolved. We want chickens to be restored to their green world and not be eaten.”
The idea for International Respect for Chickens Day traces to famed Le Show host and star of The Simpsons, Harry Shearer, who proclaimed Sunday, May 14, 2000 – Mother’s Day – National Respect the Chicken Day because hens are justly praised as exemplars of devoted motherhood.
