Rotuma Day is celebrated on May 13, 2015. Rotuma Day is an annual celebration on the island of Rotuma, a Fijian dependency. As there are more people of Rotuman descent outside Rotuma than on the island, celebrations are held in other centres besides Rotuma,

National Frog Jumping Day
May 13, 2015 in the USA
Frog Jumping Day can be traced back to Missouri author Mark Twain, and his first short story, “Jim Smiley and His Jumping Frog.” If you’d like to read this story today, it’s also known as “The Celebrated Jumping Frog of Calaveras County” as well as “The Notorious Jumping Frog of Calaveras County.”
Frog Jumping Day is an unofficial holiday. In Calaveras County, California an annual Frog Jumping Contest takes place since 1849. So everyone should try to jump like a frog on that day or even set up regional contests.

World Cocktail Day
May 13, 2015 in the World
The World Cocktail Day commemorates the exact date in 1806 when the first recognized meaning of the label, cocktail, had been published.  This was a reply to a question posed by a reader on an article at a tabloid in New York, The Balance and Columbian Repository.
The World Cocktail Day remains observed, across the world, on the 13th day of May each year.
The best and common toast anyone can hear when proposing a drink in a group is “Cheers!”  So on this year’s World Cocktail Day, be ready to hear millions of this word, and do feel free to join in the chorus!  Let us all celebrate this fun special day in the most creative way we can think of.

National Apple Pie Day
May 13, 2015 in the USA
The National Apple Pie Day is in 2015 on May 13. An apple pie is a fruit pie in which the principal filling ingredient is apples. It is the quintessential American dessert. In countless surveys it has been chosen as the favorite dessert in the United States.
Although apple pies have been eaten since long before the European colonisation of the Americas, “as American as apple pie” is a saying in the United States, meaning “typically American”. The dish was also commemorated in the phrase “for Mom and apple pie” – supposedly the stock answer of American soldiers in World War II, whenever journalists asked why they were going to war.
Advertisers exploited the patriotic connection in the 1970s with the commercial jingle “baseball, hot dogs, apple pie and Chevrolet”. There are claims that the Apple Marketing Board of New York State used such slogans as “An apple a day keeps the doctor away” and “as American as apple pie!”, and thus “was able to successfully ‘rehabilitate’ the apple as a popular comestible” in the early twentieth century when prohibition outlawed the production of cider.
