Amateur Radio Military Appreciation Day (ARMAD)
June 6, 2015 in the USA
ARMAD is an annual Non-Political Amateur Radio Public Service project that stands for Amateur Radio Military Appreciation Day. We work with National Military Appreciation Month during the Month of May. We also provide other events, and work with other groups as requested during the year. We ask Amateur Radio Operators from around the world to team up during this effort to allow the people from our communities to gather at public locations such as shopping centers, parks, VA hospitals, and sporting events to express verbal positive support “LIVE” over two way radio for members of the Military, Veterans, Reserves, National Guard, Retired, Coalition Forces, First Responders, and Military Support Groups. Many of us have friends, relatives, and neighbors that are active duty, and past members of the armed forces. ARMAD gives us the chance to support one another, and to express our thanks and appreciation to those that sacrifice and serve in the Armed Forces.

Gardening Exercise Day
June 6, 2015 in the USA
National Gardening Exercise Day is celebrated on June 06, 2015. Gardening is more than a hobby for those in pension. Gardening Exercise includes activities like digging, planting, reaping and cutting. Doing this one executes so many different movements that nearly all kinds of muscles are activated and automatically trained. As a reward a nice and cosy garden surrounds the house and invites to spend a great time outside. It is not clear who the creator of National Gardening Exercise Day really was.
The National Gardening Exercise Day calls attention to this healthy activity for people of all age. Who lacks a garden of his own can take part in gardens clubs or visit a neighbour. A garden offers the opportunity to have own vegetables and fruits and to have an own little place to recreate in fresh air. It also provides small animals like birds and hedgehogs a nice place to live which is a good step to go green.
