World Oceans Day
June 8, 2015 in the World
The World Oceans Day is celebrated on June 08, 2015. It is a day to honor the world’s ocean, celebrate the products the ocean provides. The day is observed annually. World Oceans Day had been unofficially celebrated every 8 June since its original proposal in 1992 by Canada. At the Earth Summit in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, 2008 this day was officially recognized by the United Nations. Since then it has been coordinated internationally by The Ocean Project and the World Ocean Network with greater success and global participation each year.
The Day provides an opportunity to get directly involved in protecting our future, through a new mindset and personal and community action and involvement – beach cleanups, educational programs, art contests, film festivals, sustainable seafood events, and other planned activities help to raise consciousness of how our lives depend on the oceans.

National Best Friends Day
June 8, 2015 in the USA
Best Friends Day is celebrated on June 08, 2015. On this day everyone should turn to his best friend and let him know how great it feels to have one another. Among all the people one gets to know during his life there is one special person who can be called a best friend. Best Friends Day is a perfect occasion to spend some time with that person and find an individual way to say thank you and celebrate friendship.
A best friend is someone on whom one can always rely to, share all your secrets with and also to have fun and a really great time. To take part in Best Friends Day it would be a good idea to go for a walk, watch old photos and simply make some new precious memories together. The founder of Best Friends Day is unknown – maybe someone who also had a best friend to supported him throughout good and bad times.

National Caribbean American HIV/AIDS Awareness Day
June 8, 2015 in the USA
On June 8, Caribbean Americans across the country united to observe National Caribbean American HIV/AIDS Awareness Day (NCAHAAD) – a day established to raise awareness about HIV/AIDS and its disproportionate impact on this group. Hispanics in the U.S. can trace their roots to over 20 countries in Latin America, including several in the Caribbean, which made this day especially important for many in our community. For this reason, NHCOA encouraged Hispanics of all nationalities to join us in supporting our Caribbean brothers and sisters on this observance of national HIV/AIDS awareness.
