Thursday, the 16th of July, 2015 is the 197th day in 2015 and in the 29th calendar week.
General Events:
World Snake Day
July 16, 2015 in the World
World Snake Day is celebrated on July 16, 2015. Unfortunately many people do not like snake and have bad associations about them. Snakes are said to be conniving and – there even is an own expression – snaky. But they are beautiful and to some extend endangered animals. World Snake Day recommends to get rid of that prejudices. Animals are never mean or ugly – they all have their place in the world’s ecosystem.
People often do not like and fear what they do not know. Therefore World Snake Day should be celebrated by learning about snakes – how they look, where they live, what they do, which ones are dangerous and so on. Zoos or Snake Farms are good places for that. Another way is to draw or tinker colorful snakes and spread some good reputations for them in your hometown.

Fresh Spinach Day
July 16, 2015 in the World
Fresh Spinach Day is celebrated on July 16, 2015. The initiator of Fresh Spinach Day is unknown, but his request is obvious: people should eat more fresh spinach. The most famous spinach-fan is certainly Popeye, the sailor, who got all his strength from tin-spinach. But on Fresh Spinach Day fresh spinach should be integrated to everyone’s food.
Spinach is a very healthy vegetable. It has low calories but all the same a lot of vitamins. Most importantly spinach offers iron and should be combined with Vitamin C, which is included by oranges or tomatoes. Fresh Spinach Day is good occasion to give this vegetable another chance – it tastes different if it is fresh and has nothing to do with the green pappy dish so many people do not like.

Traditionally corn, the main ingredient of corn fritters is cultivated in the Southern States. The best way to take part in Corn Fritters Day is of course to make and eat a lot of corn fritters. Inviting friends and have a corn fritters party would be even better and help to popularize this snack.
