NANO Day Twelve

nano day 12

I’ve been challenged…

To add titles to my chapters. Which I’ve never done before.

I always felt weird about titling a chapter. But I think I’ve found the way that it makes sense to me. And ta*da this story has chapters with a title. I’m cracking myself up with some of the chapter titles I’m coming up with. But… that’s me, I like to make people laugh. 😉 And honestly, I think my character and I have the same smart-alecky sense of humor.

For Example: Chapter Sixteen: Kitten in Space and my other favorite so far; Chapter Twenty One: Intergalaxy Incident Averted.

Yep, I’m moving along quite nicely, last year I think I finished with Chapter Thirty Three and this year’s outline ends at Chapter Thirty Four. That’s unless I go back and break up some of the longer chapters. It could go either way, I’ll let my proof reader help me with that decision.

Okay so in between nano and real life I’ve been caught up on the whole debacle over the Red Starbuck’s cups. Honestly, this is a thing!?! I really don’t care what cup my coffee is in, as long as it’s what I ordered.

And I’m one of those people that are not Christian and do not say Merry Christmas aloud. I do however say Happy Holidays or another nice phrase. But honestly, at least I’m wishing you a happy holiday not telling you to go jump in a lake! Just me, I guess. And I don’t make a fuss when people decorate their offices with their religious beliefs. I keep my little forest of Seasonal trees and I’m good with that. It’s not like people take the time to 1) look up my holiday and then 2) wish me a Merry Yule or a Merry Solstice. I’m fine with that. To each their own.

Okay so can we get back to stuff that makes sense to me. OOOH I think I need more coffee! And for the record I use my own cup. If it’s really that big of a deal to you, use your own mug! Just a thought.

Calendar day; November 12, 2015

Thursday, the 12th of November, 2015 is the 316th day in 2015 and in the 46th calendar week.
General Events:
World Pneumonia Day
November 12, 2015 in the World
World Pneumonia Day takes place on November 12, 2015. World Pneumonia Day provides an annual forum for the world to stand together and demand action in the fight against pneumonia. Pneumonia is a preventable and treatable disease that sickens 155 million children under 5 and kills 1.6 million each year. This makes pneumonia the number 1 killer of children under 5, claiming more young lives than AIDS, malaria, and measles combined. Yet most people are unaware of pneumonia’s overwhelming death toll. Because of this pneumonia has been overshadowed as a priority on the global health agenda, and rarely receives coverage in the news media.
World Pneumonia Day helps to bring this health crisis to the public’s attention and encourages policy makers and grassroots organizers alike to combat the disease. In spite of the massive death toll of this disease, affordable treatment and prevention options exist. There are effective vaccines against the two most common causes of deadly pneumonia, Haemophilus influenzae type B and Streptococcus pneumoniae. A course of antibiotics which costs less than $1(US) is capable of curing the disease if it is started early enough. The Global Action Plan for the Prevention and Control of Pneumonia (GAPP) released by the WHO and UNICEF on World Pneumonia Day, 2009, finds that 1 million children’s lives could be saved every year if prevention and treatment interventions for pneumonia were widely introduced in the world’s poorest countries.

National Chicken Soup for the Soul Day
November 12, 2015 in the USA
Chicken Soup for the Soul Day is celebrated on November 12, 2015 and it is a celebration about you. Chicken Soup for the Soul is a series of books. The name “Chicken Soup For The Soul” was chosen for this series because of the use of chicken soup as a home remedy for the sick, and therefore it was “good for the body.” The inspirational stories included in this series were meant to be “good for the soul.”
Chicken soup is a soup made from chicken, simmered with various other ingredients. The classic chicken soup consists of a clear broth, often with pieces of chicken or vegetables; common additions are pasta, dumplings, or grains such as rice and barley. Chicken soup has also acquired the reputation of a folk remedy for colds and flus, and in many countries is considered a comfort food.

Baha’u’llah Day
November 12, 2015 in the World
The Birth of Bahá’u’lláh is one of nine holy days in the Bahá’í calendar that is celebrated by Bahá’ís and during which work is suspended. The holy day celebrates the birth of Bahá’u’lláh, the founder of the Bahá’í Faith.
Bahá’u’lláh was born on 12 November 1817 in Tehran, Iran, and this holy day was instituted in the Kitáb-i-Aqdas, his book of laws, where Bahá’u’lláh first refers to four great festivals: the Festival of Ridván, the Declaration of the Báb, the birth of the Báb—who is considered to be a Manifestation of God, and who foretold the coming of Bahá’u’lláh—and the birth of Bahá’u’lláh. In questions submitted to Bahá’u’lláh after writing the Kitáb-i-Aqdas, Bahá’u’lláh states that the two days commemorating the births of the Báb and Bahá’u’lláh are seen to be one in the “sight of God” and are referred to as the “Twin Birthdays”.
Bahá’u’lláh taught that humanity is one single race and that the age has come for its unification in a global society. He taught that “there is only one God, that all of the world’s religions are from God, and that now is the time for humanity to recognize its oneness and unite.” His claim to divine revelation resulted in persecution and imprisonment by the Persian and Ottoman authorities, and his eventual 24-year confinement in the prison city of `Akka, Palestine (present-day Israel), where he died. He wrote many religious works, most notably the Kitáb-i-Aqdas, the Kitáb-i-Íqán and Hidden Words.
