So a recap of today’s posts for those that don’t follow me on Instagram or Twitter. 😉

We started off the day with Wondie mastering the art of making coffee, yeah she knows priorities.

Then it was time to grab some paperwork to prepare for the day. When she made a new friend. 😉

We get back to the office, and HEY! Where’d she get the donut?

And then I got busy!
Hours later, she decided to help me with my documentation.

Next thing you know…

And when in the car waiting for it to warm up. She’s really ready to leave. 😀

And now. We’re listening to some music while I’m reading! 😉

I’ve had a busy day with moments of fun included. I hope the other participants have had as much fun as I’ve had today!

Thank you again, Randy! One of my favorite days already! I’m looking forward to #AFWD2017 😉

Sweet dreams y’all.

General Events:
World Day of Prayer
March 4, 2016 in the World
The World Day of Prayer is an international ecumenical Christian laywomen’s initiative. It is run under the motto “Informed Prayer and Prayerful Action,” and is celebrated annually in over 170 countries on the first Friday in March. The World Day of Prayer began in the 19th century when Christian women of Canada and the United States started to be involved in missions at home and in other parts of the world.  The movement aims to bring together women of various races, cultures and traditions in a yearly common Day of Prayer, as well as in closer fellowship, understanding and action throughout the year.
Through the World Day of Prayer, women are encouraged to become aware of the other countries and cultures and no longer live in isolation. They are also encouraged take up the burdens of other people, to sympathize with the problems of other countries and cultures and pray with and for them. They are further encouraged to become aware of their talents and use them in the service of society. The World Day of Prayer aims to demonstrate that prayer and action are inseparable and that both have immeasurable influence in the world.
Every year, worship service focuses on a different country and a specific theme. World Day of Prayer National/Regional Committees of that country prepare the order of worship on these themes to be used on the next World Day of Prayer.

International Scrapbooking Day
March 4, 2016 in the World
Celebrated all over the world, International Scrapbooking Industry Day is the day when fans of memories, paper, photos and adhesive mixed to celebrate this greatly well-liked interest.
Scrapbooking is about maintaining memories whether they’re in paper, image or letter style, or even products such as pressed flowers from your first day, ribbons from chocolates on Valentine’s Day or even an airline ticket from your first vacation wth the women, men or without your parents, and even with the children. All that’s required is some glue, a decorated publication or cd, and some time to take a seat and begin sticking! Some communities and cities also have their very own Scrapbooking Clubs where like-minded distributor meet to talk, junk, and hold fairs where you could pick your next scrapbook design, see the most recent trends in scrapbooking, and try new gadgets.
The advent of scanners, desktop publishing, page layout programs, and advanced printing options make it relatively easy to create professional-looking layouts in digital form. The internet allows scrapbookers to self-publish their work. Scrapbooks that exist completely in digital image form are referred to as “digital scrapbooks” or “computer scrapbooks.”

National Hug a GI Day 2016
March 4, 2016 in the USA
Hug a GI Day takes place on March 04, 2016. Hug a GI Day ist for all the men and women who proudly serve for your country. You can give a big hug to all GIs you see today to thank them.
Today the term G.I. is fairly commonly known to refer to those serving in the Armed Forces of the United States of America. How that came to be is a little less military protocol and more the American story.
It seems at the turn of the 20th century, G.I. was a notation used in supply records for galvanized iron. It was later used during World War I for German artillery shells made from galvanized iron. Sometime during the war soldiers started interpreting the initials as “Government Issue” or “General Issue”. By the time World War II came around it was starting to gain meaning as generic enlisted man. Not surprisingly, sarcastic usage among many servicemen was common, feeling they were just like any other Government Issued supply being mass-produced for Uncle Sam.
About that time G.I. Joe was born. His creator, comic strip artist and former Army Sergeant David Breger, issued his first G.I. Joe cartoon series in Yank magazine on June 17, 1942. The term G.I. became more permanently etched in the American language when in 1944 President Franklin Roosevelt signed the bill that became known as the G.I. Bill; Servicemen’s Readjustment Act. And then there was no going back when Hasbro trade marked their G.I. Joe as an action figure in 1964.
Find a G.I. you know and give them a hug. Is your G.I. too far away to give a hug? Send him or her a virtual one via text, e-mail, phone or even snail mail.
