We Trekkies (geeks) have been celebrating First Contact Day since 1996. When the movie Star Trek: First Contact came out.

Which if you haven’t seen it, it really is an entertaining movie. It’s available online on Paramount +.

That means I’ve been celebrating for 27 years 🤩😮

I’m so excited!

I start my new job on Monday, I received my new laptop with the upgraded RAM and memory I ordered! Which is what I’m typing this post on! And I’ve got the Cursor Kitty working! 😀 Yes, I needed a fun little stress reliever, it’s from the Chrome store and it’s changeable. I’ve had Nyah, Bat, Pika, and Spider Kitties on my desktop chasing my cursor. Patrick is deciding whether he wants me to install it on his desktop. LOL

And JiJi is hanging out with me, while Missy is driving Patrick crazy in his room. She loves birdie watching, as I call it. The part where she’s driving us crazy, we installed new blinds this past spring after receiving a rebate from the tires. They’re new expensive blinds, we wanted quality to last and we did get a discount for the amount we bought . So, that was nice. Missy, however, likes to pounce on the window when a bird gets too close. She likes to stick her not-so-small head through the blinds and that is a no-no! She’s about to be locked out of his room which will last for 5 minutes as she does some crazy cat antics to get him to unlock the door! LOL she came out to sit on the kitty condo and watch the birds out here. And for some odd, unknown reason, she does not attempt to stick her head between the blind slates. Weirdness thy name is Kitty!

Yay! Currently, Patrick is cooking me pizza for lunch and JiJi’s purring right next to me. I have cheese pizza! JiJi will still sniff it but will avoid eating it. LOL 😀

Okay, now to go sync my phone and my new laptop, and then hopefully, I can get Facebook to do something. I forgot my password and it’s being typical Facebook and giving me hell!

OMG Email, an Accomplishment

LOL, I have finally gotten my personal email inbox down to 7 emails I need to keep in the inbox! This is down from over 5000 + emails. Yep! I no longer have the time on a daily basis to read my personal emails as I have work emails to go through. So to me, this is an accomplishment. WOOHOO! I went from 3.47 to 3.28 which is .19 less than I started. And anyone that attempts to delete and never sees that top number go down it can be pretty frustrating when you start moving towards the allowed 15% free.

Now, how did I do it without deleting everything in a bulk deletion! LABELS are our friend! LOL if you have a google/ Gmail account then you can make a label and believe me, I just simplified my life by these labels. Bills-Paid and Bills-Due, E Receipts, Fics, Friends to respond to, Family, Work, VA Health, Workmen’s Comp, iPhone Tips, Pix or other cute stuff, Hair and Nail ideas, Wicca, and Miscellaneous. Then I went and put the emails into those labels. Okay, technically, my email is not all gone, it’s been organized into manageable labels. Easier to go through!! Technicalities, specialties. LOL

Oh, yeah, you can even have a label be nested under another label, for example, Work-nested Workmen’s Comp and Physical Therapy stuff. I love how easily GMAIL has simplified my life. Next up will be adding filters to my emails so that they automatically go into these folders. I’m positive I’ve done this before but when I switched my email to its current name, I didn’t have the time to get it all organized. Today is a good day to do it too!

It’s a Full Moon, Mercury Retrograde starts, it’s payday and I had no admissions overnight for me to do any documentation on. And I’m still on work restrictions so since I have to stay at my desk, ta*da! I’m organizing some things. Because on Monday, our IS (internet support) people are going to log in and do something…. right before I have 2 important Zoom Classes on Tuesday and Wednesday! They’ve paid for them. So, I hope they don’t mess up my computer! Apparently, I’m due to get a new work laptop as mine is ancient- over 5 years old. That’s ancient in tech stuff. LOL

Now depending on who you believe it starts on the fifth or the sixth! I’m going to go with the earlier date, better safe than sorry! lol 🙂

Remember Mercury is the God of Communication and most importantly try not to take things personally. They don’t really mean it. Some people will say offensive things and they don’t mean to, it’s just that their thinking is muddied and their communication skills are sub par right now. This won’t be forever only until March 28! for this cycle. oops 😛
PS- I’m not yelling, I swear! It’s just this is really important and so I used Caps lock. okay, I’ll take JiJi whapping me in the head with his tail, owies!!

Looking back to my college days, like ten years ago. LOL 😀 I was to come up with a collage of my influences and that is representative of Me.  My influences: Rosie the Riveter- pretty self-explanatory I think. Gloria Steinem- I was a child of the ’70s and she told me I could do whatever I wanted! So yeah, had to have her in there. The Statue- I was looking for one of Pallas Athena-but couldn’t find a good one…so I ran across this one and I liked it. Reminds me of a woman running with a torch- to light the way! The Dancing Silhouettes those are my friends celebrating life! This was drawn by Sean O’Donnell and colored by Moi aka GroovyGoddess 😉

I haven’t been able to post as much engaging pix lately, work does come first and then I’ve got to sleep. I know, boring! But it’s the reality for me.

Anywho I had a few minutes tonight to work with the girlies! and this is what happened!

I’m having so much fun & another app review too!

I bought the apps bundled in this deal and yes, I think it’s worth it for 6.99 for both as each one separately is 4.99. The instructions were a little dry but very easy to understand. And I did this one on the iPhone in no time at all! the iPad app loaded onto my iPad without any help from me. Bonus! Sometimes I have to do a little push to get the apps to load onto my iPad. But again the interface is really easy, the layouts and the stickers, etcetera are really easy to use, re-size, and add your own text. I’m still futzing around with it to see what it else it can do, but so far, I really like!! And another example of what I can do! And this time I added Wonder Mite and her sidekick… I went for my middle of the night wake and stretching around the house, it’s too cold to go outside and do a stretching routine. I came back to find a note and Wonder Mite on my laptop along with her sidekick added a bit later. Patrick and the kitties are such the goofballs during the night. LOL JiJi tried to sneak off with Wonder Mite but I was able to catch him. He’s lying on his chair in my office right now. Oooh, I might do a comic strip artpiece with him. He’s very photogenic. =^.^= meow

AFWD 2019 is…

Friday, March First!! 
It happens on the first Friday of March every year. And since my work day starts the night before at 9 o’clock, I work the third shift, I’ll be participating earlier than most. 😉

ya’ll ready for this? LOL, How does it work, well, if you have an action figure, you take it to work with you. I’ve posted past AFWD’s, and you can find one of those, HERE! I’ve participated in #AFWD2015, #AFWD2016, #AFWD2018. I missed 2017 because of work stuff- and work takes priority.  The link I shared above is from the first year and wow! I had a lot of photos that day. I hope to have quite a few this year as well. We’ll have to see.

I forgot to mention, you use the hashtag #AFWD2019 (this year) and post to social media, AFWD people are on Twitter, Facebook, and Instagram. You’re not the only one participating, and it’s really fun! I’ve had other’s pose with my Action figures in the past.

I’m all about having fun while working, remember to do your job too, that’s really important! But have a little bit of fun with it.  Tonight I took the logo and blew it up, and then used it for the background for Wonder Woman and Wonder Girl to pose with it! This year, Patrick has bought me the Wonder Girl action figure as a Blonde Amazon, needs a blonde Amazon action figure. 🙂 Wonder Woman will be along to show her the ropes! lol 😀

Alex’s Geek Corner

“OMG! I’m here!!! So the movie I planned on watching didn’t pan out. But i have watched two of the Fall Season’s new tv shows, a reboot of Charmed and the new Teen Titans.

No spoiler review, just my opinion.

Charmed, I actually liked it. There were a few minor things, but this is a different family and so I’m watching without the Prue, Piper and Phoebe blinders on!! Just give it a chance and see what you think, remember to watch it as if you’ve never seen the other show.

Now as for the New Teen Titans… um… let’s see the positives first.

Good casting for Robin.

Once the CGI was incorporated, WOW! What a  difference that made!! I hope the haters choked on their sandwiches. LOL

But seriously, another one that I’ll have to watch a few more episodes before I decide. At this moment, I don’t like DC DARK and BROODY! Real life gives me enough of that! And Dick using a gun???

Yes, I have a problem with Batman and Robin using guns!!  So that’s a pretty big no for me! But I’m going to give it a few more episodes before I decide if it’s a big NO or a big no.
The sub-story with Raven seems interesting and Gar not much there. You got a glimpse but NO spoilers!! lol “
