OMG Email, an Accomplishment

LOL, I have finally gotten my personal email inbox down to 7 emails I need to keep in the inbox! This is down from over 5000 + emails. Yep! I no longer have the time on a daily basis to read my personal emails as I have work emails to go through. So to me, this is an accomplishment. WOOHOO! I went from 3.47 to 3.28 which is .19 less than I started. And anyone that attempts to delete and never sees that top number go down it can be pretty frustrating when you start moving towards the allowed 15% free.

Now, how did I do it without deleting everything in a bulk deletion! LABELS are our friend! LOL if you have a google/ Gmail account then you can make a label and believe me, I just simplified my life by these labels. Bills-Paid and Bills-Due, E Receipts, Fics, Friends to respond to, Family, Work, VA Health, Workmen’s Comp, iPhone Tips, Pix or other cute stuff, Hair and Nail ideas, Wicca, and Miscellaneous. Then I went and put the emails into those labels. Okay, technically, my email is not all gone, it’s been organized into manageable labels. Easier to go through!! Technicalities, specialties. LOL

Oh, yeah, you can even have a label be nested under another label, for example, Work-nested Workmen’s Comp and Physical Therapy stuff. I love how easily GMAIL has simplified my life. Next up will be adding filters to my emails so that they automatically go into these folders. I’m positive I’ve done this before but when I switched my email to its current name, I didn’t have the time to get it all organized. Today is a good day to do it too!

It’s a Full Moon, Mercury Retrograde starts, it’s payday and I had no admissions overnight for me to do any documentation on. And I’m still on work restrictions so since I have to stay at my desk, ta*da! I’m organizing some things. Because on Monday, our IS (internet support) people are going to log in and do something…. right before I have 2 important Zoom Classes on Tuesday and Wednesday! They’ve paid for them. So, I hope they don’t mess up my computer! Apparently, I’m due to get a new work laptop as mine is ancient- over 5 years old. That’s ancient in tech stuff. LOL

For those that are about to start Lent, we feel for you! NO Meat Fridays, giving up something you really like for forty days! yes, I remember being forced to do that nonsense too! But it’s what you do for your faith! Remember!! Be nice to people!

And then it’s Mercury Retrograde 1st cycle of the year
Now depending on who you believe it starts on the fifth or the sixth! I’m going to go with the earlier date, better safe than sorry! lol 🙂

Remember Mercury is the God of Communication and most importantly try not to take things personally. They don’t really mean it. Some people will say offensive things and they don’t mean to, it’s just that their thinking is muddied and their communication skills are sub par right now. This won’t be forever only until March 28! for this cycle. oops 😛
PS- I’m not yelling, I swear! It’s just this is really important and so I used Caps lock. okay, I’ll take JiJi whapping me in the head with his tail, owies!!

Looking back to my college days, like ten years ago. LOL 😀 I was to come up with a collage of my influences and that is representative of Me.  My influences: Rosie the Riveter- pretty self-explanatory I think. Gloria Steinem- I was a child of the ’70s and she told me I could do whatever I wanted! So yeah, had to have her in there. The Statue- I was looking for one of Pallas Athena-but couldn’t find a good one…so I ran across this one and I liked it. Reminds me of a woman running with a torch- to light the way! The Dancing Silhouettes those are my friends celebrating life! This was drawn by Sean O’Donnell and colored by Moi aka GroovyGoddess 😉

#AFWD & an App review

Hello and yes, I’m still preparing for #AFWD2019. I’ve been seeing all these cute photos on the timelines of Instagram and a few personal sites.  I spent a little over an hour trying to find the right app for me to use.

The Winner IS:

Strip Design 

The easiest to understand and easiest to use for what needs to be done, or what I WANT to do! That’s the criteria in my opinion, is it easy to use and does it do what I want it to do? If the answers are yes, then buy it! Strip Design is the undisputed winner and I paid 2.99 for it! It’s definitely worth the price and I guarantee I’ll be leaving a very positive review on the app store! Look at what I’ve created already! The example speaks volumes. 😉
***Also good to know, there is an iPad app. Not all apps are available for the iPhone and the iPad.  Photo taken with my iPhone and I used the iPad to do the comic page! I also used pic monkey app to add my ‘signature’ to the bottom.

 

Losers in my opinion aka very difficult APPS

Seriously, do NOT waste your time or money!! Both are difficult to use, the apps kept crashing and they don’t allow you to move the image to where you want it. So heads are cut off or completely out of the frame! *facepalm* 
However, these were the first two I saw, and they were quickly deleted also! So Please avoid both of these apps, save yourself the hairpulling and the stream of invectives! I will be leaving negative reviews on both of these apps!

AFWD 2019 is…

Friday, March First!! 
It happens on the first Friday of March every year. And since my work day starts the night before at 9 o’clock, I work the third shift, I’ll be participating earlier than most. 😉

ya’ll ready for this? LOL, How does it work, well, if you have an action figure, you take it to work with you. I’ve posted past AFWD’s, and you can find one of those, HERE! I’ve participated in #AFWD2015, #AFWD2016, #AFWD2018. I missed 2017 because of work stuff- and work takes priority.  The link I shared above is from the first year and wow! I had a lot of photos that day. I hope to have quite a few this year as well. We’ll have to see.

I forgot to mention, you use the hashtag #AFWD2019 (this year) and post to social media, AFWD people are on Twitter, Facebook, and Instagram. You’re not the only one participating, and it’s really fun! I’ve had other’s pose with my Action figures in the past.

I’m all about having fun while working, remember to do your job too, that’s really important! But have a little bit of fun with it.  Tonight I took the logo and blew it up, and then used it for the background for Wonder Woman and Wonder Girl to pose with it! This year, Patrick has bought me the Wonder Girl action figure as a Blonde Amazon, needs a blonde Amazon action figure. 🙂 Wonder Woman will be along to show her the ropes! lol 😀

Alex’s Geek Corner

“OMG! I’m here!!! So the movie I planned on watching didn’t pan out. But i have watched two of the Fall Season’s new tv shows, a reboot of Charmed and the new Teen Titans.

No spoiler review, just my opinion.

Charmed, I actually liked it. There were a few minor things, but this is a different family and so I’m watching without the Prue, Piper and Phoebe blinders on!! Just give it a chance and see what you think, remember to watch it as if you’ve never seen the other show.

Now as for the New Teen Titans… um… let’s see the positives first.

Good casting for Robin.

Once the CGI was incorporated, WOW! What a  difference that made!! I hope the haters choked on their sandwiches. LOL

But seriously, another one that I’ll have to watch a few more episodes before I decide. At this moment, I don’t like DC DARK and BROODY! Real life gives me enough of that! And Dick using a gun???

Yes, I have a problem with Batman and Robin using guns!!  So that’s a pretty big no for me! But I’m going to give it a few more episodes before I decide if it’s a big NO or a big no.
The sub-story with Raven seems interesting and Gar not much there. You got a glimpse but NO spoilers!! lol “

 

YAY it’s TGIT!!

I had to go and see someone in person at the office. But I’m back home as I had to do my rewrite up here, I left my password hidden in my office. Oops I thought I had it memorized but nope! So I’m home and the kitties are really happy!! Patrick is all, “Thank goodness you’re home, they are just unreasonable and they’re yours now!” LOL He’s hilarious!! But yes, both kitties are in my office with me and rubbing up against me and meowing hello. Awww!!

And I’ve been thinking of coloring when I can, and here are some older colors of mine with the before and the after. The first is one of my favorites by Jolly Jack and I was sooo happy when he gave me permission to color her and OMG, he actually likes my colors and gave me permission to do more. I can tell by numbers that this one is an early color within the first year I started coloring. I like to think I’ve approved some and am now coloring on the iPad- some things take time to get good on/at. So I’m not at a beginner level but I’m nowhere near my last level abilities.

The second one is Dr. Saranth a friend’s Original Character and he asked if I would color her for him and I did. He really liked her too!!

“So, how did I spend the holiday. Beating people up.” Giggling, “NO, not really. I was yelling at them for being outside without sunblock on with the sun beating down on them and then reflecting off the water. OI! Grown adults should know better. Hello, do I smell coconuts? Oooo, I love coconut!! I need the coconut cut in half for Hula Hula day! So last night, I had the night off and I did what any good soldier kitty girlie would do, stay up all night and watch goofy movies. The good news, DeWayne Johnson and Channing Tatum!! WHAT?! I notice things, pecs, biceps, buttocks, smiles, and eyes. I’m not completely shallow, only during my movie watching! They were, uh, yeah, did I mention, DeWayne and Channing??? Well, there you go.”

“Yes, I am Fangirling!! The boss lady has become a friend of Mr. Keith Giffen, you name it, he’s done it, Marvel, DC, Legion of Superheroes, Batman, The Scooby Apocalypse Volume 1- I tried to share the link to the ebook, and sorry, no dice! But the one thing I love above all the others, AMBUSH BUG!! OMG! He is the most awesome and hilarious character ever!! I’d totally do a mini-comic with him if I could! Kitty Girl Alex and Ambush Bug take the mall by Storm! I think it would totally sell. Much better than those death matches. Ugh, those are just wrong. Oh right, I’m a girlie girl but I can totally kick ass if I have too! Ambush buggy I’d totally hug you!! That’s why I’m covering that horrible dollie you have and put myself there!”

 

Hi from me, you know the Groovy One. LOL 😀 I sent that request a while ago and yes, I behaved and didn’t fangirl at the time he accepted but, honestly, his Ambush Bug got me through a few tough times in the Army. When I was all ugh and then I’d read a story with Bug in it, I couldn’t breathe I was laughing so hard and you can’t stay sad when you’re laughing that hard. So truly, thank you very much, Sir! You made me smile multiple times with this very goofy character and he might’ve influenced some of Alexandria’s hijinx.
