The vacation wasn’t long enough

I had my perk day, and then we had the day after Thanksgiving off and I wasn’t on call this past weekend, so I had a five-day vacation that only cost me 4 hours of PTO (Personal Time Off) for the 4 hours I left early on Tuesday to kick start my vacay! I mean c’mon who wouldn’t have done that?

I came back to work with yet another surprise, my new supervisor went into labor last Tuesday and started Maternity leave so I’m back to doing what I originally used to do on the inpatient unit. NO big! I got it! I just don’t like the overbearing rude Insurance person that always, ALWAYS gets away with being Rude, Overbearing, and impertinent. Why? Because “Oh that’s just her, don’t take issue with it!” DUDE! if I did what she does to me, I’d be written up and possibly fired, so how does she get away with it, seriously, no one wants her job!! That’s the bottom line! UGH

Then I’m receiving text messages from people that aren’t getting the message that I’m at work and I’m busy, and then I’m getting phone calls from support staff, “You’re not busy and I have a question I need to be answered.” Right, okay, you can talk to the overbearing rude person when I don’t get this work done before noon! Thankfully, it’s 11:40 and I got the documentation done for her.

I’ve been having some severe chest pains and I have to use the bathroom but the stress of being yelled at takes precedence over holding it. And I know the chest pains are from the situation too! I’ve gotten my Nitroglycerin out though, just in case! I don’t know how I can explain to them that I have to reduce my stress! and being yelled at is not a good way to reduce my stress! HR doesn’t GAF, they work for the company! So, suck it up buttercup!

I’ve written in my gratitude journal, and I’m looking forward to lunch to use my other coping apps! Oh, and yeah, I forgot to grab lunch, so crackers it is. 😉 I’m grateful I have crackers, which is better than having nothing. See, I know how to use my gratitude skill. And I think my blood pressure might be lessening. I need to go see the med clinic nurses for my vitals.

Until later, go check out the new social media app that is intended to be the new Twitter, but honestly in my opinion it is much better than Twitter ever was! Most of the people I’ve interacted with it are respectful and friendly. Don’t get me wrong there are what I refer to as children, not mature adults, too! You can report them but with only 3 people currently employed, I just use the BLOCK button! That’s satisfying in my opinion. LOL 😀

I’ll try to update this later with my vitals for my information and for those that truly care. I know that this is another form of social media and that not everyone that reads it, cares for the writer. I’m not that narcissistic. LOL 😀

UPDATE: I was unable to get my vitals done, as I have a job to do and when I was able to see them, they were gone for the day! oops! I didn’t need my nitroglycerin after all. 😉

And what a beautiful morning it is!
No entry yesterday, I was busy! But I do have wonderful WoohOOOO News to share!! 😀

I received the ‘official’ email, and I am now one step closer to my Licensure!! 😀

yes, lots of exclamation points this morning, I’m all twitterpated. lol

In other news, today is an early Friday, I have tomorrow off, and then my four hour friday. I’m feeling fine at the moment. 🙂 And today I work till six o’clock. So yeah, feeling FIIIINE! smirks

And in a brief app review, I finally found a great radio app for the iPhone. Tunein Radio, the streaming is awesome, no buffering! No song song song…bzzz bzzzz bzzzz… and then silence. And this app has stations from all over the US. I’m loving it. I really do prefer 70’s music, and I have over 100 stations to choose from, at the mo I’m listening to 181.FM Super 70’s. And I’m groovin over the playlist. lol 😛 One of the options is the ability to fave your station, and then you can fave your songs, and you have the option to buy the song in app from iTunes! Sweet! There is an option to buy a more something or other version of the app, but for me. The free is working and I don’t have to buy a subscription to listen to my music.
For me, having an app that streams the radio for me is awesome. I can’t get a regular radio to work in my office. I can’t get the internet versions to play on my work comp, and then let’s not get started on why nothing wants to come through my speakers. OI! and yes, they are plugged in, turned on at the speaker, and the volume knob is turned up. Still nada…. IT shrugs at me. So this app is perfect for me.

Next app review post soon, I have downloaded some really fun free photo apps, and a disney game. I know! LOL

I’ve also posted two of the July calendars on the photoblog and I’ve gotten over, kinda, what ticked me off the other day, and I’m working on two more. One for my guy friends, some girlie hotness. And then one for the Joe Flanigan loves!! 🙂 My bunnies and Snookums asked me very nicely. LOL At least they didn’t threaten to beat me. LOL

Fa lalala laaaaaa it’s Friday!! :)

And what a beautiful Friday morning it is, the sun is shining, the skys are blue, and I’m wearing my sandals. LOL 😀

I’ve been changing my boots for more appropriate footwear, and oh my goodness… I’ve gotten some blisters. The shoes fit, it’s just I’m not used to wearing them for eight or more hours. So today, it’s my comfy sandal day. I wear these all the time, I’ve traveled in them- from Fort Wayne airport to Chicago and finally to Dallas. I’ve walked miles and miles at various conventions; GenCon and Wizard World Chicago. And at the end of the day, my feet are tired but not OMG sore! Best sandals ever from Sketchers! I’m going to have to find a second pair. I’ll probably bury these when they are no longer wearable. LOL I’m silly.

And a brief app review:
Rdio not to shabby. I’m not to sure about the 14 day trial, when I saw it on Appsgofree I thought it was free Free!! But for the moment, it’s cool. However it’s not really a radio app, it has a search function, and yay! I was able to find a few artists I wanted to listen to. And you’re able to close the app, and go play on other apps. So that’s cool. Also when your auto-lock engages, the music is still playing. We’ll see if I pay for this one.

Anyone know of a good radio app? There’s times I just want to listen to one of my two favorite radio stations, 107.9 out of Indy- plays a lot of music and it’s not all the trendy stuff. Just a nice mix. My other favorite radio station is 104.9 out of Muncie/New Castle, an oldies station. I like listening to their play list too. They’ve started playing more than just oldies, and it’s a good fit.

So that’s the brief app review.

And so another round of wintery mix has been dumped into Indiana. It started last night, with an icy sleet. I was reading on my news feeds about slide-off’s and other accidents in Indianapolis. And then I started hearing it hit my roof. Wow, it was definitely loud. I fell asleep quite well listening to it.

Then this morning I get up, and it didn’t look that bad from the windows. It wasn’t until I had to pry my car door open and looked at the pretty ice buildup on my windows that it struck me, “Oh Hell!” lol 😛

So I started up the car, and the defrosters, found my ice-scraper and got to work. Until my fingers started getting all tingly from the water and the cold. I let the defroster do the work, and then used the windshield wipers to push it all away. Oh yeah, you have to love really good defrosters! well, I do.

I’m at work, and I’m wondering who is really going to be brave and go out in this weather? The roads aren’t iced over, but the snowy sludge is making them slick and difficult to drive on in areas. Personally, I would’ve stayed home myself. However my job, I am a ‘key’ personnel, and they will send the police to bring me in to work. No state emergencies for me. That is a mixed thing.

I’m thinking it’s time to bring out the ipdad and do some creativity. I downloaded a really cool new app, and I’m dying to try it out. It has a lot of functionality, but so far, the learning curve is a bit annoying. For free though, I’m willing to put up with the annoyance if it truly does what I want it to do. I’ve said it before, and I’ll say it again; if you have an iPhone, please download the AppsGoneFree app, you’d be amazed at what apps are offered for free!! Seriously, it’s worth it and it’s FREE!!

okay, time to watch people slide across the sidewalk in front of my window. It’s sad, but it’s still slightly entertaining. What? If they really get hurt, I’m right next to a phone, and then I’ll go help them too!! I’m a little evil, but not that evil! lol 😀

laters, and I probably will be posting the valentine’s day cards on the photo blog, I need to get them off my phone, and I really want to keep them. So when I can get to a laptop, I’ll organize them all. We’ll see if I can get them all in one post, but that’s highly doubtful. So just enjoy them!!

Digital magazines; I downloaded the Wizard World app to my iPad and downloaded some of the issues I wanted to read. So far all Free! I figured out where they get the sponsorship. It’s cool at the moment, I can see where it could get tedious.

The ad’s in the magazine are clickable links. So now when you’re looking at the ad and drooling (oh, maybe that’s just me. 🙂 ) You can touch the page and it will take you to the site to order whatever product it’s advertising. Good news, you can X-close the advert and go back to reading the magazine. At the moment, I like the clickable pages-I can see where it can be dangerous. LOL

Bonus, I don’t need a wifi connection to read the magazines I’ve already downloaded, and since I have the wifi version-not net connected iPad that is valuable to me. If you want to download an issue, then yes. You do require net connectivity.

Some of the articles in the digital version are geared towards the digital media. I like that. I also like that they don’t appear as sexist as the print version. I used to have a sub to Wizard World, but obviously they don’t believe girls/women read comics, and think it’s okay to have some stupid sexist comments. It would be fine, if they had female journalist’s doing the same to the fanboys. But alas, they don’t.

Anywho-on the review, if you like Free, you like to read, and you’re a comic geek like me, then download the Wizard World app, you also get a head’s up on upcoming conventions.

all in all for the price; Free! It’s definitely an app I’m glad I downloaded.
