14. Are there any courses that I’d like to do in the future? Which ones and why?

This is a reason I miss the Pacific Northwest soo much!! There were always classes, lectures, discussion groups, etcetera! Here in Indiana occasionally a bookstore has an event, but honestly- I’m not into someone talking about Channeling his guardian angel! And Camp Chesterfield in Chesterfield, Indiana used to be a good place to go, until they got greedy! Now, you can’t speak to someone unless you pay first and schedule an appointment. The one Pagan store that was in Muncie went out of business and the cafe that held a Pagan/Wiccan night once a month- stopped after the bookstore went out of business. As to individual’s in this area… some aren’t at the same level as I am and I’m not in the mood to deal argumentative immature ppl right now!

I’d love to have some courses here in Indiana, I’d love to have open nights where one can go and be with others of a like mind. Esp since I live in Footloose (think of the movie at the beginning!) territory!

*yes, this is one of the ones I had in the wrong order-placed in its correct order now! ;)*

13. What are my least favorite spells to do and why?

LOL 😀 Well if they aren’t my favorite why would I do them, answer, I don’t!  If I don’t want to do a spell I don’t!  My spells take a deal of preparation, motivation, and willpower! So I don’t do them all willy-nilly!

Now, how about those annoying questions from ppl that find out I’m a Witch, can you/will you do a love spell, money spell, turn ppl into a Frog? OMG! I’m a witch, not your personal ATM, and love spells, remember and it harms none! so yeah, no! Guess what that person you can’t live without, can live without you and you really can live without them…don’t bind yourself to a crush-1 it’s stupid, 2 it never works out, 3 there’s someone better out there for you! And as to the request to turn someone into a Frog? Really? Why would I do that for someone? I wouldn’t! You have an issue with them, I don’t! Be an adult and go deal with it!!

“An it harm none, do what thou wilt.”

12. What are my favorite type of spells to do and why?

Hmmm, this is a little complicated.  Okay, re-read, favorite type of spells.  I don’t do spells willy-nilly. And they usually take a bit of preparation. So my favorites are the ones I can do *snap* quick. And my favorite is how to get rid of negative/annoying/energy vampires! Usually, the person is all of the above! I have two I can do for this type of person, but mirroring them rarely works! So it’s back to shutting them down and closing myself off!  When at work, I can’t-do this all the time, due to the type of work I do. However, if I’m feeling really drained from them, it’s on! *snap* Benefit to shutting down the person, they lose focus and then I can get to what’s really the issue and work with them. 😉

When out in public you’re vulnerable to energy vampires, negative and annoying ppl. It’s Fall more ppl in the stores now! And it feels good when you shut them out! *snap* Although this time of year, I still make my shopping trips as quick as possible! We go on off hours when we can!

Now I’m not going to share this easy little spell unless ppl want me to. Which means, you’ve got to leave comments! lol 🙂  quid pro quo! 😉

what people think I do.  :O

What I really do. 🙂

11. What one issue within the pagan community annoys or angers me? Why?

I’ve touched on this previously; One group of Pagans that believe their way is the only way!

Some are almost as bad as fundamentalist Xians! and that’s B A D! 😦

If you didn’t read it or don’t remember, I’ve taken friends or ppl that want to see other groups of Pagans and how they interact to the Indianapolis Pagan Pride Day. When they went to ask questions of a group that they were really interested in, they got yelled at and berated by this particular Group! I have nothing against the Norse Pagans- but this group needs to learn manners! And after I looked around to find someone in charge of the event to no avail, I decided enough was enough! I have Pagan/Wiccan Pride, however, I haven’t been back to the event since that incident!

I have personally worked with covens of various Pagans/Wiccans; Dianic, Alexandrian, Gardnerian, Traditional, Eco Witches and a few eclectic solitaries!  I only had a problem with the Alexandrian and Gardnerian covens who were very strict about skyclad meetings and had a priest that wanted to initiate even a guest to the meeting through sex! UH, NO!  Yes, both groups were highly involved in sex acts with their members and I’m not interested in either tradition if that’s how they act. I visited two other groups to see if it’s all groups, it’s not but, one of each tradition and their strict ritual policies truly had me turning around and walking back out the door!

To practice Skyclad for the uninitiated is to practice in the nude. I don’t mind in my own house, but in a public venue, uh Hell NO! Witchcraft is not titillating behavior or entertainment for the unwashed masses! This is spiritual contact with your Diety!

I’d have to say that what annoys me is the same thing that bothers me about the Xians; being told that my path is wrong, the stereotypes of being naked and engaging in ritual sex! I’m of the if it works for you, awesome! To each their own! I don’t disrespect you and your faith, don’t disrespect Me and Mine!
Just because I don’t like Xian stuff doesn’t mean, I dislike the individuals. Actions speak louder than words! Don’t be a CINO! (Christian in Name Only!)

Before I go off on a rant! I’m going to stop here! Blessed Be!

10.  My favorite Wiccan authors are? Why are they my favorites?

Starhawk is one of my favorite authors and bonus, I got to meet her and she autographed my book! She is an activist and I needed to hear that at that particular time. The chat we had helped me get out of my comfort zone! Scott Cunningham is a favorite, his books are many and varied-covers a bit of everything and I enjoy his style! When I started to read he was the first one I picked up! 😉

Ann Moura is a new favorite,  I’m reading her Green Witchcraft books, I appreciate her style and I’m learning – which is a sign of a good author for me!;) I am an Earth sign and I’m finding more and more I am seeking knowledge on Green Witchcraft!

The vessel is ready to be filled…

9. What are my top three resource books and why?

First would be the Farmer’s Almanac to keep track of the seasons, weather, and moon phases! The Farmer’s Almanac is a resource that should be on your bookshelf!  I also use the Witch’s Almanac as it is geared towards Witches and Pagans! 😉 I have a book titled Goddesses For Every Season by Nancy Blair that I use as I’ve said I ask the Goddess of a specific role to help me. But this book also breaks it down to what season a specific Goddess might be called upon. The book also gives affirmations-if you use those, to help stay focused!  From there it depends on what I’m looking for? I have and tend to use the Wheel of the Year by Pauline Campanelli and then any book from Scott Cunningham!

So I don’t have three specific books other than the almanacs and Goddesses for Every Season. Another reason why my goal is to read more! 😉

For the techno Witches, the three apps I use the most are:

  1. Moon Cast- I’ve set alarms for specific phases! 😉

2. The Goddess Oracle- for personal reasons and specific focus!

3. Breeze-chimes that can be set for wind or when you shake your phone. Chimes can be sounded for spells, to help get one in a specific mindset or to trigger a response! 😉

8. How would I like to change or improve my daily practice?

This challenge has proven that I can do what I set my mind too and on a daily basis! So with that in mind, I am planning on setting aside a time for me to read, write or do something creative with my practice in mind!

This has to be the shortest answer so far! However, it’s the only thing I want to change!

7. Do I work with Deities? If yes, who and why?

I do ask for certain Deities to help or assist, as to working with them, that is presumptuous in my opinion! I don’t work with, I ask nicely, politely for their help/assistance! As to who I work with, well that depends on what spell I’m working on, or what the issue/topic of the problem is. As to daily prayers, I have one that I normally pray to! I tend to connect best with the Female Deities! If I need help with wisdom or a difficult decision- Athena, if I need assistance with an ethical issue- I ask Dike who is known- as the goddess of justice and moral order in Greek mythology. Issues dealing with family, that depends it could be Hera or Hestia! As you can see, I’m partial to the Greek Pantheon, it is what I grew up with and connect with.  And as I’ve said in earlier posts I’ve been drawn to and have had dreams with some of the Egyptian Goddesses in them.  Isis has made a few appearances lately as has Ailuros (see this post as to why I refer to her differently: When Pantheons Collide) they appear after I’ve had a stressful day in my recuperating and yes, I feel better and am able to sleep after their visits in my dreams! Why now,  are they making appearances? I don’t know. Which is why I’ll be looking for some books on them specifically and a book or two on Egyptian mythos as well.

My daily Goddesses are Gaia and Ailuros! Both sit on my altar! And JiJi appears to love both, you can find him at least once a day rubbing on them and then lying down with them. I’m not going to get upset over him lying down on my altar! I tend to think a kitty loving and lying on your altar is a blessing!

Blessed Be!

6. What would I like to study next and why?

Hmm? I have a few things actually. I’ve been drawn to some of the Egyptian Pantheon and I’d like to learn more about the Egyptian Goddess myths! Green Witchery-gardening and herbology! I make pouches for ppl that ask and Patrick takes care of the herbs and I add in what crystals are appropriate! I’d like to be able to understand how/why he knows what herbs to use- one of his gifts,  he doesn’t have to read-just appears to know! 😉

5.Where has my study focus been recently?

My focus lately has really been on healing myself and being patient (with myself and others) as I’m recuperating! Otherwise, I’ve been reading some books for pleasure and other books for study! I’m looking forward to some things coming up! We’ve already decided that we won’t be going to Pagan Pride day in Indy.  Patrick says, “It wasn’t nice last year or the year before that!” And by nice he means the whole atmosphere, people that work there, the vendors, and some of the other ppl that are walking around, some seemed to cause trouble!

There are a few groups on FB that I’ve had to let know I’ve not been doing the monthly spellwork, as I’m healing. Amazing! Out of what 5 groups, I have only stayed with one, as the others had unpleasant words. Um! Really? You don’t want a Witch not at 100% to cast a spell. Trust me! Patrick has asked me to recuperate and not do much of anything else.

I will be doing some colors here shortly of a Samhain nature!! I’ve learned years ago how to focus a spell on a piece of art! 😉 and that I can do between 80-90%! I’ve tested it before, how I know my limits! 🙂

My friend, Dion, has been posting some beautiful art and educational posts about some Goddesses I did not know about. He is Greek, this is his heritage and I appreciate him sharing with me! I’d love an actual print of  Astraea!

Blessed Be!
