My husband built this for me! No blueprints. It was all in his head. He builds like that. Iโ€™m always impressed with how professional his work is! The quality is high standard too, weโ€™re both Veterans. I definitely feel safer now! And he bought me the pillows for my chair. This chair is uncomfortable AF! Not spine or ergonomic friendly!

flashback to Friday’s fun… :P

So I said I’d blog about what happened, etc.

Early morning, up and at ’em! Well I was. Hubs was dragging a bit. We finally got on the road, and then we hit rush hour traffic in Indy. (I wasn’t allowed to say, ‘I told you so.’) So we were running late to my first appt, and missed it completely. No worries, my doc ordered it done again-blood draw, and so it still happened. And then the next round of tests started, X-rays, and a lot of other fun stuff. ugh ๐Ÿ˜ฆ

Anywho- I’ve found out I have some more tests that I’m being scheduled for, and then a surgery asap. Yeah, I should’ve had the surgery right after the heart attack. Um oops! ~sighs~

Then we were heading home, made a stop by dad in law’s and he was nice. (Shocked the hell outta me!) And then once again on the road again, only thing is, the car started acting up- hub’s car, not mine. And then we stopped on the side of the road right outside the town we live in. Yep, fun fun fun… anywho he took off running to the house about 1.6 miles, and then he drove my car to the tow truck/mechanic’s shop. Yay! As I’m waiting on the road, I’m watching everyone drive on by. NO One stopped! And then, as I was getting all…kersplutzed, and being cheered up by face book friends, a police officer finally stopped by. He called the auto shop and asked them to hurry up the tow. So that was nice. And he was nice, he was wearing some of the Wounded Wear clothes, yeah, he’s a fellow veteran too. Really nice. He stayed with me for a bit to make sure I was okay. Women alone on the road, not a good thing. Especially when I told him what my friends were doing to cheer me, are there zombies? Do you have a defensible position? He was cracking up with me. I had informed my friends, good news; it’s not raining, snowing and no zombies. LOL So yeah, we started talking about my chances if zombies did show up. BTW hubs has informed me, in this area, they’d be the slow stupid zombies, I’d be fine if I kept my mouth shut. LOL ๐Ÿ˜›

So in a nutshell, that was Friday! lots of tests and a surgery being scheduled, dad in law being nice (still freaking me out), car died and is currently in the shop, and then when I made it home, I was out of it. Sick. Oh yeah, my doctor did tell me I was sick with a bug, but didn’t prescribe any other antibiotics. ~sighs~ Saturday and Sunday, I was in bed the whole weekend, my body hurt, my temp was up, and then it went up even more, and yeah. So once again, no writing on my nano was accomplished. ~sighs~

Today power is out at certain places, lots of wind damage that we saw driving in this morning. And some schools were on a two hour delay. Please be careful out there.
We’re commuting and boy is that fun. LOL I have to be at work early this week, so hubs had to get up early and it was a giggle fest in the car, we were being silly and arguing over stupid stuff. Mainly that I wasn’t driving like he would. Oh well… ๐Ÿ˜› And I have a ride to his business later, and I have two hours there to wait till he gets off work. So reading or writing?? Guess? LOL The one thing I don’t like about being a one car family, the wait times, esp when I still feel yucky sick.

Anywho, that’s been the flashback and I included in the weekend. Except for Sunday when all the freaking alarms in town kept going off. They don’t blow them for just tornadoes, but any type of bad weather. It didn’t look that bad to me. Well after driving through Marion on the way to work this morning, damn, the wind was bad. Signage out all over the place, roofs turn off of buildings, trees broke in half all over the place. ugh…

Please take care, drive carefully!

Wacky and Wonderful Wednesday!

And bonus news today; I was informed that my four hour friday had changed…. from noon to four, to eight to noon! *Happy Dance* I’m up early anyway, so I get up, get the workie stuff over with and then have the rest of the day off. SWEET!

Because I will be contacting the Geek Monkey’s to help me with something. And I need to organize some things, go back through my clothes-yet again. I’ve lost some more weight. My clothes are starting to fall off me, even with a belt. Good/bad…eh!

So the list for this weekend (Fri-Sun):
* Go back through closet
* Go back through the bureau
* Install the Intuos and the CS 6 programs
* Rearrange/organize some of the furniture in the room
* Laundry- never goes away… lol
* Nap! (yeah, like I’m going to forget that one.) LOL
* Geek Monkeys to the rescue
* Have Fun!

So what do ya’ll have planned for the weekend, if the weather keeps getting hotter, I hope ya’ll stay out of the sun!

Happy Summer Solstice!! )0(

That’s right, it’s the ‘official’ start of the Summer season!

And it’s my anniversary! We’ve been married for 14 years! And together for ten before that. So whoa, I’ve been with this dude for 24 years. Um, yeah! Big WOW! LOL ๐Ÿ˜€

And now for the not so fun news; he’s sick. Like really really sick. He was able to get in to see his doctor this morning, hm, apparently this bug is going around. And he’s going to need meds. So I cancelled our dinner reservations in Indy. And I’ll be picking up some chicken noodle soup on the way home after work. Along with some orange juice, and water. He doesn’t like water from the tap. Even with the Brita filter I’ve put on it. Some people just like their bottled water. I keep teasing him, I’m going to stick a baby bottle top on it. LOL ๐Ÿ˜›

And since he might be contagious. We’ll be in seperate rooms later. He can watch a movie on his laptop, and I’ll be watching a movie in my room. woot! (And yes, that woot is sarcastic)

But back to the Summer Solstice, it’s the first ‘official’ day of Summer. Any one have any special plans?

And just in case anyone is wondering, I just received a text from Hubs, he has Gastritis Infection. They are ordering a chest x-ray and blood work to rule out Namibia and jaundice. A while back there was a woman that came in to hubs work, her pupils were bright yellow. He washed his hands, and used alcohol on all the surfaces she had touched, but still for his peace of mind, the doctor is having the tests done. And she is from the region for the other rule out… um… whoa…
sometimes I love wiki, and others, I wished I hadn’t looked to see what he’s ruling out.
So yay, tests to ensure it’s only the one thing. And um, yeah, he is infectious. woonothoo…

okay Punkins, laters! Have a beautiful day!

It’s a grey and rainy morning…

Yeah doesn’t have the same punch as “It’s a dark and stormy night.”

But it’s true. LOL Went to bed with my phone buzzing every ten to fifteen minutes with weather alerts; severe t-storms, flash floods, and oh my, even tornadoes. Yeah, that kind of made for a restful nights sleep. NOT! LOL ๐Ÿ˜›

But I finally fell completely asleep, because the alarm jolted me awake this morning. And yes, it’s grey out and raining sporadically. Not bad. But I like this type of weather. No, I never claimed to be normal, quite the opposite really. LOL

In other news, I found out that the wobbly in my car was due to a bad tire. I was afraid it was my tie rods. Not an easy fix, and kind of expensive. But yay! It was only a tire. Hubs took my car to the tire place yesterday and they gave him an amazing deal on a set of four. He was only going to replace the front two, but it turned out cheaper, to do the whole set of four. So woohoo! My car drove like a dream this morning, no wobbly, no weird noises. Other than me singing along with the radio. lol And now I’m not going to be freaking out when driving it. Oh Yeah, nothing like his prophecies of doom and gloom. “Your tire could blow and then you’d die!”, “If you turn a corner to fast, the tire could blow, and then you’d die!” See a pattern here and he was wondering why I didn’t want to get back into the “Death trap” after he told me those things. LOL I switched cars with him. Hey, he obviously wasn’t as freaked out as me after that convo.

And it’s Thursday!! One more day to the weekend. I have Saturday off. I’m on call Sunday. So Saturday I’m driving to Indy and running some errands and hope to meet up with some friends. Good stuff! I also hope to have a cook out soon! I love grilling. Yes, I love grilling. So the whole fireball at the beginning can be a little dangerous. I’ve been known to over-douse the charcoal with the fire fuel. Whoops! But it really makes people take notice! LOL ๐Ÿ˜› And then once the whole thing is ready for the food. I’m all woot! Let’s do this! Plus clean up is a breeze. Scrape the gunk off the grill, rinse it down and viola, done! Okay, yeah summer is minimum fuss when doing food.

Speaking of minimum fuss, this new email is interesting, I’m not used to seeing my inbox with only six email’s.

Let’s have a great day! Keep calm and be awesome! Remember you got this! ๐Ÿ˜€

closer to the weekend

WooHooo! It’s almost time to party! and by party I mean have coffee after 7p. LOL ๐Ÿ˜›
Yeah, I’m one of those responsible peeps. Now then, if someone would like to invite me to a get together, I’d love to! ๐Ÿ˜€ lol

And Mother Nature is changing her tune already, according to Paul Poteet If you live in Indiana, he really is the meteorologist to follow!

I got a ride in to work this morning, so hard to not be a side seat navigator. Honestly!! Uh, just a tad of a control freak. I admit it! ๐Ÿ™‚ But we did get me to work, with no problems, and I was still early. I can’t just get to work ‘on-time.’ I have to be at least, at least thirty minutes early. Time to set my PMA for the day, review documentation, get coffee, be socialable with the night shift staff. You know, all those important things.

And last night, I did veg, but… I also gave in to my secret obsession. Oooooh! What is it you ask, well it wouldn’t be a secret if I told. LOL ๐Ÿ˜›

So tonight, I’ll probably be working on doing some St Patrick’s day stuff. Why yes, I am Irish.

I hope ya’ll are staying safe, and warm! If you are over 30, please be careful while shoveling outside. Seriously… take breaks, hydrate, and stay warm! Travel slower, those roads look clear, but are they? I’ve hit a few patches of black ice in my time, so not fun!!

So it’s been a couple of days, I’m feeling better. Still can’t remember squat about my accident, but according to some research I’ve been doing…that’s normal. Whoo-something about me is normal. wow! LOL ๐Ÿ˜€

I’m still without an ISP at the house, and lately after work, all I want to do is crawl into bed and relax. I don’t do manual heavy labor, but what I do do, can exhaust me.

As you’ve noticed, I changed the background etc. Will be changing my gravator shortly too. ๐Ÿ™‚ I’m starting to get into the spirit of the holiday. I’ll snap a pic of my trees on my desk later. LOL Yes, more than one, I like to have a little winter wonderland on my desk. Duh, I’m weird. :p

I hope ya’ll are doing well…I miss doing the Nanowrimo, but I just haven’t felt like writing, and my plot bunnies-silly little furballs- are playing in the snow. And what the one I do have staring at me, well it’s a new bunny in a different area….to write what he wants or not? We’ll see, I miss writing. I just need to go back and re-read what I’ve written – WIPs- and see if I can remember where I was going with it. I do have some outlines on some of them. So that will help. But…we’ll see, otherwise I have a new paper tablet and a pen. Still love writing the old fashioned way on paper. I am trying to locate my notes on what I wrote for Halloween, and get them up soonish. OI!

Anywho…take care, drive carefully, stay warm and stay hydrated. Yes, you can still suffer from dehydration in the winter months. Till later… Peace!!

Monday the sequel

Have you ever noticed when you have a Holiday Monday, that the Tuesday following it is omfg crazy.

And that some people need the rest of the week off. I’m sorry, if something is not going your way. You don’t take it out on the rest of the people you’re working with.

I have a habit of telling people to put on their big girl/boy panties, get a grip and deal with it. It’s like ripping the bandage off of a wound. It sucks, and it hurts like Hell! But when you’re done, you feel like you’ve accomplished something. Life sucks, no one ever said it was fair, either. But it’s how you act, and NOT react to something that makes it easier. Oh yeah, I am a facilitator for DBT, Dialectical Behavior Theory, can you tell? LOL ๐Ÿ˜€

People in Indiana, be careful. It’s cold, windy and we’re expecting snow.

What a nice way to end the year, and begin the new year. With new followers! You are most appreciated!

so it’s NYE, and I am sitting after waking up late. I must have been really tired. I slept past noon. oy!
I’m watching my boxed set of Stargate: Atlantis. Proofing some stories to post on the PlotBunny site, and trying to figure out what I want for dinner.

speaking of; is there a tradition of eating Chinese food on 12/30? Because last night the take out Chinese food place I go was packed. And when I called my best friend, who also decided to have Chinese, his restaurant was also packed. Anyone else??
But I’m still thinking Chinese sounds good. When in doubt, I always have Chinese. Just me.

otherwise, patty melt, cheesy fries, and a chocolate malt sounds good too. I rarely eat junk food. But every now and then, it’s time to have a junk food fest. And I remember moderation. If I only do this once a month or every other month, I’m good. Pizza sounds good too. And I’m def not, a big pizza person.

I think at the mo, I’m just really hungry. ๐Ÿ˜€ LOL Time to go find some food.

And wow, Ry Robbins is on this ep of Stargate: Atlantis. Scifi actor’s don’t die, they just move to another scifi show. Ry Robbins is Henry on Sanctuary. Another one of my favorite shows. I hear I missed a marathon of Sanctuary yesterday. aww ๐Ÿ˜ฆ but I was able to see the newest ep, and not wait for Hulu to air it. Although I’ll rewatch it again when Hulu does. ๐Ÿ™‚

so…I think I need to go some food. Finish proofing this story and keep the phone next to me to call the cops, when the neighbor’s get stupid, and fire off their rifles at midnight. People the bullets come back down!! OY!! DO NOT GO FIRING WEAPONS AT MIDNIGHT! DO NOT DRINK AND DRIVE!

If you are going out tonight, take this # with you, and use it, PLEASE!
NO excuses! Don’t drink and drive! And don’t ride with anybody who does.Tipsy Tow offered by AAA: You don’t have to be an AAA member, from 6pm-6am on New Year’s Eve/Day they will take your drunk self and your car home for FREE. Save this number… 1-800-222-4357 . This is available nationwide!

Okay, now go enjoy NYE and stay safe!!

may be time to see my doc…

Last week, I had a bit of a scare, and I was intending on going to the ER. But then…I didn’t.

I had woken up, and got right out of bed. Now as most Chronic pain sufferers know, that’s usually not possible. I have fibro. I normally have to coax my body to get up and out of bed.

Then I got in my car and drove to work, after my morning ritual, duh. Any who when I got there, my legs refused to cooperate to get out of the car. So I pounded my one leg, and felt pain, waited a few minutes and then got out.

Later that day, I had been sitting in my office, and went to get up to go get some coffee. Again, my legs didn’t want to do it! So this time I pounded on both of them. Yeah, stupid, I know. But I at least wanted to know if I could feel. I finally realized that the constant pain in my lower back was GONE! Okay. Some would be thrilled by this. Me, I was scared. I’ve never not had this pain, since my helicopter accident. It’s always been there. And then add that into my legs didn’t want to work, and you see where I’m going?

It got better by the next day, pain returned and my legs worked.

Now this morning, I’ve noticed the pain is there, not as bad. And my legs are acting wonky again. Like I really have to concentrate putting one foot in front of the other. I’ve been walking since I was one. This is kind of annoying. And really, it’s scaring me more, than it’s annoying. I wish the VA would get off it’s tuckus, and get me my tests for MS. One of my doctor’s diagnosed me with it, but oh yeah, NO tests. So it’s what we in the medical profession call a R/O=rule out. I want this ruled out. I think this is an after effect of my stroke combined with my fibro. Either way, I just want to know. And how often is this going to happen? Where I have to pinch or pound my legs to get them to work.

Anyone out there ever heard of something similiar? Please leave a comment. Thank you!
Have a beautiful Monday!
