Happy Father’s Day!

I’m at work, and I’d much rather be with my daddy celebrating his day.

Alas, that is not going to happen. So hopefully he understands. Which I’m sure he does. And I’ll be calling him asap.

And woohoo I accomplished my goal for the holiday weekend. I did nothing! Well you know, nothing majorly important. Still did the Domestic Goddess Gig, and I tried to lay out and get sun burnt. Okay, yes, no tanning is bad for you. And getting sun burnt is very bad for you. But honestly, I just wanted to sit outside, soak up some of the heat and read peacefully.

Saturday was the day, I slathered on some sunblock, yes it was cloudly overhead, but you can actually get burnt on cloudy days. The UV A/B rays still come through the clouds. Owies!! So wear your sunscreen on cloudy days. But it was nice and warm out, grabbed a book, my ipod and headphones and some water. Had the ipod set to classical, the book was the newest by Yasmine Galenorn of the Otherworld series. And ahhhhh! It was peaceful! And I didn’t fall asleep and get burnt.

After that nice break, I went inside, and we had a mini movie marathon, Adam Sandler was the actor and we watched Grownups, Hotel Transylvania, and Little Nicky.

I think I went to bed around 1 am. And then on Sunday, it was pretty much a repeat of Saturday. Except I stayed inside as it was a little rainy, so I finished my book on the couch. And then being someone that doesn’t really do the whole relaxation thing well. I grabbed my iPad and started working on June’s photo calendars. I had planned to do four of them for various groups I belong to on Facebook. One of Joe Flanigan, Paul McGillion, Kavan Smith and then one for my secret group. The reference model I use for Briana, Alice Goodwin- you might have heard of her. She’s pretty popular with the UK ppl, she’s a model for Zoo magazine and their website. Very lovely woman.

Then I took a nap, because naps are good for you. And spent the rest of the day being lazy and watching Stargate SG:1 episodes. Research, seriously, I’m doing a story in the Stargate Universe, and I’m thorough on my research. LOL 😀

Monday, slept in. Number one priority there. I’m usually up around 4 am. An hour and a half before my alarm goes off. I lie there and just do some meditation as the alarm starts it’s cadence. Then I start moving around. It’s nice just lying there and letting my thoughts get some focus before taking on the world. I did work on the calendars some more. I even had them finished by late afternoon. And that was even with me distracting myself. “Ooooh, I need this. No wait, maybe that.” I have the cutest arguments in my head with myself when working on creative stuff. LOL 😛 But Monday was a true do nothing day! And for once, I didn’t feel guilty about it. I’m used to doing stuff every day, and yesterday I didn’t do anything but what I wanted. I actually ran out of time doing nothing. LOL I was just starting to work on re-editing my outline for the story I’m working on, and noticed it was time for bed. Yeah, that 4 am comes awfully early. And I’m on days this week, so I needed some sleep. oooh forgot, I also posted some stuff on my deviant art page. I was finally able to get the iPad and the site to work together for a change. LOL

All in all, it was a nice relaxing weekend, no real drama, no whiny stuff. Just quiet and peaceful. Well for me, it was quiet and peaceful. LOL Hubs was busy doing yard stuff, and work stuff himself. And he had drama. But I’m keeping my mouth shut, and not saying those four little words (I told you so.). Because honestly, I feel bad that what happened happened. But sometimes people have to experience things on their own. No matter how much you want to protect them from the same painfulness you might have had when you went through something similar. ~le sigh~

I hope ya’ll had a wonderful weekend.
For those that watch the greatest spectacle in Racing, hope it was good! I know that Brazil’s Tony Kanaan won. And you know you watch a lot of Science Fiction when the name reminds you of a character in one of the shows. LOL Congratulations to him!!

Have a beautiful day! Stay safe!
And for those in Indiana, I love this website for my weather!
Paul Poteet I watch his video every morning. And if you’re on Facebook, he’s there too! Giving his updates. Check Paul out. (No, I’m not a sponsor lol)

time to be productive Saturday

Most people use the weekend to relax…and normally I like to do that too, however today, I have some things I’d like to do and boom-they’re productive too. 🙂

I’ve already cleaned out two totes I’d been procrastinating going through. I’ve moved all the stuff to the new dresser, and threw out stuff I no longer needed. I would’ve given them away, but…some things need to be tossed.

I’ve gone through three little fabric totes, and have organized them better. I still need to go through some things in the bathroom, and toss a lot of junk. But hey, that’s a different room, so that’s my Sunday project.

Today though, I’m done with the majority of the physical stuff. Still working on laundry…but that’s a continuing thing every weekend. :p

so today, for a bit…I’m going to be uploading the valentine’s day cards to the Photo blog, I figure the only way I can get them all in one post is to do it from the laptop. So up next, the photo blog is being updated!!

till later…

Tu Tu Tuesday! :)

I walked out the front door this morning to snow on my porch. YAY! 😀 It was beautiful! Looking out my office window, I can still see snow on the houses across from our building. Yes, I am still a kid at times (like 95%).

And now for something interesting- it takes a lot to offend me. And with that being said, I heard a Holiday song this morning on the radio that did just that. It was truly offensive! It was supposed to be an inclusive song for all religions, but honestly…it failed in a big way! If you don’t want to say Merry Christmas, fine. I say it to those of my friends that celebrate in that faith. I tend to say Happy Holly Days! And it cracks me up how many people that offends. Honestly, at the very least, I’m acknowledging it is the season. So take it in the spirit it’s given, I mean it! Happy Days! No matter what your religious beliefs are.

I used to say Merry Chrismahanukwanzaa – okay I know there is an actual spelling to that word, I have totally missed it. But it’s still a nice thought. And that’s offended people too.

To quote the Eagles, “Get over it!” http://youtu.be/1H-Y7MAASkgI’d much rather have happy people in a good spirit, then the cranky people. Truly I don’t think it matters what you believe, how you celebrate or any of that stuff. My main principle this time of the year, and it is fairly Christian, “Do unto others….” stop being so annoying and thinking of yourself. This time of year is for others, IMO.

so…a little deep for a Tuesday morning. I’ll post some fluff or eyecandy later in the day, because I know, I’ll need it by then.

As always, have a lovely day! Enjoy what you have, and give of yourself to others. Even if it’s nothing more than a smile, you never know how that will effect someone. Trust me! 😀

I love it when we have staff meetings and we get exceptionally good news! The second week of January we (my colleague) and I will be starting a new shift- it still bounces back and forth week to week, but this new one! I Love IT! Friday’s alone is awesome, we would work noon to four. Yeah, four hours on the opposite week!! WOOOT! 😀

Just got permission from the boss to talk about it. lol

we will have two ten hour days, two eight hour days and then the four hour Friday. It’s almost enough for me to request the second shift all the time. (Okay, let’s not go completely crazy here…)

anywho, it’s been a busy week. And I’m back looking for an ISP. I have one choice in this area (BFE) and I’m not happy with their service. However, it’s the difference of not having an ISP or having one. I’m willing to see how it goes. Maybe in two years they have improved service. It’s an option. With or without.

We (Hubs) still hasn’t located the Yule tree. I don’t think he’s looking hard enough. Our storage shed isn’t that big. But then again, he’d be the one to put it up and decorate it, so… that could be a factor.

I’m trying really hard to get into the spirit of the season. Well in my own way- I don’t have Christian beliefs so it’s different, than others. But it really is a little difficult. I want more snow. (Ducks paper wads!) And some friendier sale staffs. “Hello? Do you want me to spend money at your business/service?” Honestly…seems to me, that I will be doing more cyber shopping to avoid the rude sales clerks. Used to be feeling consumers, now it’s the people that work at the place. OI!
However, I do have a bit of a winter wonderland going on in my office. And a couple of my friends have added to it. And I’ve been listening to my fave Christmas tunes on the iPhone. Speaking of have ya’ll tried those new rubber speakers? They are really cool, and I just saw where they are $2.39 on ebay. (And at the moment, pic files are NOT showing up. sighs) I’ll attempt later.

Hope your Wednesday is as fabulous as mine’s started!! 🙂
