flashback to Friday’s fun… :P

So I said I’d blog about what happened, etc.

Early morning, up and at ’em! Well I was. Hubs was dragging a bit. We finally got on the road, and then we hit rush hour traffic in Indy. (I wasn’t allowed to say, ‘I told you so.’) So we were running late to my first appt, and missed it completely. No worries, my doc ordered it done again-blood draw, and so it still happened. And then the next round of tests started, X-rays, and a lot of other fun stuff. ugh 😦

Anywho- I’ve found out I have some more tests that I’m being scheduled for, and then a surgery asap. Yeah, I should’ve had the surgery right after the heart attack. Um oops! ~sighs~

Then we were heading home, made a stop by dad in law’s and he was nice. (Shocked the hell outta me!) And then once again on the road again, only thing is, the car started acting up- hub’s car, not mine. And then we stopped on the side of the road right outside the town we live in. Yep, fun fun fun… anywho he took off running to the house about 1.6 miles, and then he drove my car to the tow truck/mechanic’s shop. Yay! As I’m waiting on the road, I’m watching everyone drive on by. NO One stopped! And then, as I was getting all…kersplutzed, and being cheered up by face book friends, a police officer finally stopped by. He called the auto shop and asked them to hurry up the tow. So that was nice. And he was nice, he was wearing some of the Wounded Wear clothes, yeah, he’s a fellow veteran too. Really nice. He stayed with me for a bit to make sure I was okay. Women alone on the road, not a good thing. Especially when I told him what my friends were doing to cheer me, are there zombies? Do you have a defensible position? He was cracking up with me. I had informed my friends, good news; it’s not raining, snowing and no zombies. LOL So yeah, we started talking about my chances if zombies did show up. BTW hubs has informed me, in this area, they’d be the slow stupid zombies, I’d be fine if I kept my mouth shut. LOL 😛

So in a nutshell, that was Friday! lots of tests and a surgery being scheduled, dad in law being nice (still freaking me out), car died and is currently in the shop, and then when I made it home, I was out of it. Sick. Oh yeah, my doctor did tell me I was sick with a bug, but didn’t prescribe any other antibiotics. ~sighs~ Saturday and Sunday, I was in bed the whole weekend, my body hurt, my temp was up, and then it went up even more, and yeah. So once again, no writing on my nano was accomplished. ~sighs~

Today power is out at certain places, lots of wind damage that we saw driving in this morning. And some schools were on a two hour delay. Please be careful out there.
We’re commuting and boy is that fun. LOL I have to be at work early this week, so hubs had to get up early and it was a giggle fest in the car, we were being silly and arguing over stupid stuff. Mainly that I wasn’t driving like he would. Oh well… 😛 And I have a ride to his business later, and I have two hours there to wait till he gets off work. So reading or writing?? Guess? LOL The one thing I don’t like about being a one car family, the wait times, esp when I still feel yucky sick.

Anywho, that’s been the flashback and I included in the weekend. Except for Sunday when all the freaking alarms in town kept going off. They don’t blow them for just tornadoes, but any type of bad weather. It didn’t look that bad to me. Well after driving through Marion on the way to work this morning, damn, the wind was bad. Signage out all over the place, roofs turn off of buildings, trees broke in half all over the place. ugh…

Please take care, drive carefully!

So for those not in the know, the day before Halloween I had a bad accident that resulted in a TBI, aka a concussion. I have suffered some brain damage- memory loss, mainly three hours prior to the accident and some other wacky stuff. I actually had forgotten my name. yeah…

and my blood pressure was skyrocketing. So I got permission to leave work, went to see the hubs and asked him what my name was. That went over really well. So he had the lovely pharmacist take my bp and he got permission to take me to the ER. Where it was determined I needed a CAT scan and an IV. woo…yay…

Before/after, I don’t know…the Cat Scan, it was determined that my brain was swelling. And that wasn’t good. So they gave me some medication in my IV to reduce the brain swelling and some morphine to reduce the pain, and hopefully my bp. Well it kinda worked. BP is very stubborn, the diastolic- your bottom number, was not going down, quite the opposite really. The Systolic-top number, was going down. So more pain medication to help me and my body to relax and I started to use my DBT skills to also help reduce my stress/tension and fear. UH, Yeah! Honestly, not knowing your name, losing three hours of memory-not recalling how you had recieved the TBI, and then finding out your brain is swelling-along with the fact I have permanent brain damage. so not very good.

Twelve hours later, after some food, the IV of meds, and Hubs helping calm me down, I was able to leave. I was off work for a week. not good, but I didn’t argue. I was scared.

That Monday I was due to go back to work, I received a phone call, the MRI that I was to have was due that day! So…called my boss, explained the stitch, and called hubs to drive me to FT Wayne VA for my MRI.

I wasn’t allowed to drive at that time. Still wasn’t medically cleared to put myself behind the steering wheel of a vehicle. Totally understood that concern.

So anywho, we made it to the MRI appt on time. Yay! And wow! Have they changed. Hubs was pacing the entire time I was in the tube. What should have been a 15 minute scan, turned out to be a 25 minute scan. Not that big of a deal, but enough to have Hubs freaking out. The techs told me that they had asked him if he was okay, and then offered to sit on him. LOL He’s very claustrophic. Which??? Okay, I was the one in the tube, not him. But I guess I really have scared him.

After that we got some food, and then back home. The first couple of days back at work, was interesting, and annoying- me personally. I kept double and triple-checking my work. Thank goodness, repition of a task, really does help you remember it. And this week I’m still not quite at 100%, more like 75-80% but, that’s still good in my book. I am driving, doing my job, and the smart ass level is finally coming back. As I’ve said previously, if I lose my sense of humor. I’m doomed! Doomed, I say! LOL (See!)

So that’s why I haven’t been posting in the past couple of weeks, resting and recuperating. Plus…memory issues, I had to remember some things. oops 😦 Oh and the change in the seasons, the temp has been dropping, causing some Fibro issues. I’m used to that now, but the migraines from the barometric pressure- yeah, never use to those. Ugh.

Internet is back down at the house as well, so…that will make some future posts sporadic again. Dangit, I am calling someone! No, not ghostbusters…LOL I want my net!!

Ya’ll have a safe and happy Friday!! Enjoy the weekend. Here in Indiana it’s supposed to be pretty nice, chilly-it’s fall, but still nice!
