WOW! a new better Supervisor

I’m floored to have a supervisor that appears to be 1) human, 2) compassionate, 3) cares for her people and 4) not a micromanager!! Her liking Pepsi is just a bonus! LOL 😀

Seriously, I’m feeling good about this new supervisor while mine is on Maternity leave for the next two months, I’m wondering if I can keep her for longer than that! Seriously!

And below, I feel as if I’m the only person that likes snow! Honestly, if I can stay home and not have to drive on the icy roads, the better! But just snow alone, yes, I love snow! It’s just so peaceful!

OMG it’s cold, and it has raised a degree since earlier this morning, it’s now -11. :p

Yesterday I had called for a ride to work, and was informed that they were unable to get me, which was fine. During the night, I had gotten woke up by a horrible migraine. I hate it when they are that bad, that they wake me up in pain. I couldn’t take a med because it makes me sleepy, but once I found out I wasn’t going to be going to work, I called the boss and took a sick day. And then I immediately took one of my migraine meds and drifted back to sleep. About six or so hours later it was down to a five on the ten scale. Manageable but still owies.

I called/texted for a ride last night, and they were able to get me this morning. So I’m in. 🙂
And have been informed that I might get to leave at 3:30 today, that would be awesome!! I need some more migraine meds… I think it’s the barometric pressure that is not allowing this migraine to just go away. UGH! Hopefully the boss says yes! 😀 (The news comes from the ‘big’ boss. :D)

Anywho it is very dangerously cold outside, if you don’t need to be outside, DON’T!
If you do, please be sure to dress appropriately, in layers, tuck your pants inside of your boots, helps keep the warmth in, cover your head, nose and mouth- hats and scarves. Ensure you have gloves, and use them.
Also be sure to stay hydrated, most people don’t know you can still dehydrate in the winter. Moisturize your hands and feet after they have been warmed up. Keep your socks dry, and change them if they get wet.

2nd winter

Okay, so this winter storm watch was accurate. I really didn’t expect this much snow. And you get your car stuck once… Hubs drove me in to work this morning. And I’m quite happy he did. Even roads that were ‘plowed’ (half-hazardly) people and us were sliding. ugh.

We were talking in the car, well he was talking, I was listening and waking up, hadn’t had my third cup of coffee yet. lol

He was telling me about a scam that he’s seen at work, a few elderly customers have been coming in and asking for gift cards that can be used anywhere with a high dollar amount placed on them. His curiosity made him ask what they were for. The customers told him both at separate times, that they had won the publisher’s clearing house and that they had to send the money to get their money. Thank goodness he knows enough about scams. He informed them that in good conscience that he could not sell them the gift cards, and that they need to take the letters to the police. They, the customers said that the people have called them too. He suggested that they have the police look into that as well.
***I’ll keep ya’ll updated with what I hear. But yeah, definite scam going on, and they are using the Publisher’s Clearing house name to con people. Be AWARE!!

I’ll add in a pic to this after it’s published, so you can see the drive in this morning. 😉 Again, I can’t believe how much snow has been deposited, and it’s still snowing out. I’m watching it come down while sitting in my nice heated office. LOL 😀

Happy Ostara aka the First day of Spring!

And I’ve been really quiet this week, remember if you have nothing nice to say, say nothing at all. I could vent, I could whine, bitch… but it helps for a short period of time. I’ve just had to get myself together and organize things. Prioritize what is important for me, and move on from there. 🙂

Today is the first day of Spring, according to my calendar. However the temps outside are in the 20’s. Brrr! However, time to think spring! A new season, full of new possibilities. So what to do first? Coffee [_]> what? I think better with coffee. (That’s my story)

What do you have planned for this new season? Cleaning out the house, ahhh Spring Cleaning. I can’t wait to open some windows and let in some fresh air, and clean out the stale of the winter. I’ve been cleaning my room for some time, organizing and going through clothes. But since I’ve lost more weight, time to go through them again. And paint a little bit. Or, I’ll supervise the painting process. LOL :p

closer to the weekend

WooHooo! It’s almost time to party! and by party I mean have coffee after 7p. LOL 😛
Yeah, I’m one of those responsible peeps. Now then, if someone would like to invite me to a get together, I’d love to! 😀 lol

I got a ride in to work this morning, so hard to not be a side seat navigator. Honestly!! Uh, just a tad of a control freak. I admit it! 🙂 But we did get me to work, with no problems, and I was still early. I can’t just get to work ‘on-time.’ I have to be at least, at least thirty minutes early. Time to set my PMA for the day, review documentation, get coffee, be socialable with the night shift staff. You know, all those important things.

And last night, I did veg, but… I also gave in to my secret obsession. Oooooh! What is it you ask, well it wouldn’t be a secret if I told. LOL 😛

So tonight, I’ll probably be working on doing some St Patrick’s day stuff. Why yes, I am Irish.

I hope ya’ll are staying safe, and warm! If you are over 30, please be careful while shoveling outside. Seriously… take breaks, hydrate, and stay warm! Travel slower, those roads look clear, but are they? I’ve hit a few patches of black ice in my time, so not fun!!

um…winter weather alert….

To me, seemed like a bust. It started blowing and snowing last night, and I got a little excited. Yeah, still like a kid when it comes to snow. I’m no longer sitting next to the radio listening for closures, but it’s close. LOL 😀

anywho, it all seemed like a let down. There’s hardly any snow on the ground. It took less than five minutes to clean my car off. I was hoping for something. I don’t know what….but something more than a smattering of white powder.

Happy Friday o.0

And so another round of wintery mix has been dumped into Indiana. It started last night, with an icy sleet. I was reading on my news feeds about slide-off’s and other accidents in Indianapolis. And then I started hearing it hit my roof. Wow, it was definitely loud. I fell asleep quite well listening to it.

Then this morning I get up, and it didn’t look that bad from the windows. It wasn’t until I had to pry my car door open and looked at the pretty ice buildup on my windows that it struck me, “Oh Hell!” lol 😛

So I started up the car, and the defrosters, found my ice-scraper and got to work. Until my fingers started getting all tingly from the water and the cold. I let the defroster do the work, and then used the windshield wipers to push it all away. Oh yeah, you have to love really good defrosters! well, I do.

I’m at work, and I’m wondering who is really going to be brave and go out in this weather? The roads aren’t iced over, but the snowy sludge is making them slick and difficult to drive on in areas. Personally, I would’ve stayed home myself. However my job, I am a ‘key’ personnel, and they will send the police to bring me in to work. No state emergencies for me. That is a mixed thing.

I’m thinking it’s time to bring out the ipdad and do some creativity. I downloaded a really cool new app, and I’m dying to try it out. It has a lot of functionality, but so far, the learning curve is a bit annoying. For free though, I’m willing to put up with the annoyance if it truly does what I want it to do. I’ve said it before, and I’ll say it again; if you have an iPhone, please download the AppsGoneFree app, you’d be amazed at what apps are offered for free!! Seriously, it’s worth it and it’s FREE!!

okay, time to watch people slide across the sidewalk in front of my window. It’s sad, but it’s still slightly entertaining. What? If they really get hurt, I’m right next to a phone, and then I’ll go help them too!! I’m a little evil, but not that evil! lol 😀

laters, and I probably will be posting the valentine’s day cards on the photo blog, I need to get them off my phone, and I really want to keep them. So when I can get to a laptop, I’ll organize them all. We’ll see if I can get them all in one post, but that’s highly doubtful. So just enjoy them!!

Welcome to Thankful Thursday, I’m thankful for my friends, the heat in my office, the nice brisk morning, and all the readers of my little bloggie. Awwww! {{{HUGS}}}

I’ve been bugging my online friends with lots and lots of wacky questions, and most of them have been answered. YAY! Now the one about the letter I need written…hm? LOL 😛

Anywho it truly is a beautiful winter morning, it’s been snowing again, so when I walked out the door this morning-it was pretty. Slick, but still pretty. I managed to stay on my feet and not slide across the porch and down the steps. Always a good start to the day! When the cold air hit me as I came out from the shelter of the house, again, Brrr! But woke me right up!! I love cold weather, not necessarily Artic frigid temps, but the cold makes me feel alive! Summer has it’s beauty as well, but I’m a cold weather girlie! Just keep the ice out from under my feet. LOL 😀

I’m itching to do something creative, write, paint, something….so maybe, just maybe I can do a little writing today in between appointments. If that doesn’t happen, then I’ll see what I can doodle or use an app on the phone for some creativity. Yeah, cold weather for me, has a lot of benefits; creative muse is active, not as many Fibro flare-ups, migraines- ah, that’s an iffy. I get those no matter the season. Flu is finally going away and I’m feeling feisty. So smart assness has returned, always a good sign-I lose my sense of humor, I’m in trouble.

My boss bought our lunch today, perk day. I received my cute little certificate thingie that I’ve been here for three years. As of today, it’s been three years and two months. But hey, still good!! 🙂

It’s still cold here, but not arctic chills like yesterday. I still have my coat and gloves, and I’m thinking some ear muffs would be good too.

And I’ve hit a wall…nothing really to vent about, nothing that I’ve got to share at the mo. I have started an interesting little series, okay, I started it back in October, and I still have to find the notebook, but when I do, I’ll be typing it up and putting it on the blog.

and wow! Seriously, my mind is a blank…cool, I finally get it. LOL Meditation, can’t make my mind quiet, and writing this now, it’s a total blank. lol :p

Tu Tu Tuesday! :)

I walked out the front door this morning to snow on my porch. YAY! 😀 It was beautiful! Looking out my office window, I can still see snow on the houses across from our building. Yes, I am still a kid at times (like 95%).

And now for something interesting- it takes a lot to offend me. And with that being said, I heard a Holiday song this morning on the radio that did just that. It was truly offensive! It was supposed to be an inclusive song for all religions, but honestly…it failed in a big way! If you don’t want to say Merry Christmas, fine. I say it to those of my friends that celebrate in that faith. I tend to say Happy Holly Days! And it cracks me up how many people that offends. Honestly, at the very least, I’m acknowledging it is the season. So take it in the spirit it’s given, I mean it! Happy Days! No matter what your religious beliefs are.

I used to say Merry Chrismahanukwanzaa – okay I know there is an actual spelling to that word, I have totally missed it. But it’s still a nice thought. And that’s offended people too.

Truly I don’t think it matters what you believe, how you celebrate or any of that stuff. My main principle this time of the year, and it is fairly Christian, “Do unto others….” stop being so annoying and thinking of yourself. This time of year is for others, IMO.

so…a little deep for a Tuesday morning. I’ll post some fluff or eyecandy later in the day, because I know, I’ll need it by then.
