21.  If I work with cards, what’s my favorite deck and why?

I do work with Tarot cards not as much as Patrick does, but I do. I have a favorite deck, but that’s my personal deck and I’m not into sharing about it! Call me superstitious if you must, but more likely I don’t give away certain aspects of my life! 😉  Did anyone notice that I didn’t explain why I use the pendulum more than cards yesterday? NO.  I didn’t think so. lol 😀  okay, Patrick is much better at reading the cards then I am, however, I am the better crystal Witch! Pendulums, spells or pouches with crystals, reading specific crystals that you draw out a pouch I have. Why I get so upset and sometimes angry with people that want to touch my jewelry! Stop It! I also don’t like to be touched but that started after the place I work at. Bad energy and Vibes from co-workers, not clients! OI! NOT a happy place to work at and one of the reasons I went to third shift!

Anywho back to today’s topic: Now I’ll gladly share the app that I use because I don’t carry a deck of cards with me all the time, and it’s not always prudent to pull out my pendulum! 😉  Plus as technology has improved and with the lack of community here I have become more and more what I call a techno witch, meaning I use apps and my laptop for my virtual book of shadows and spell work. Lots of stuff is available online if you know where to look! 😉 I’m still looking to work with one of my artist friends to help me design the techno pentacle! Hey, I’ve seen lots of pentacles in Oregon that were specific to a coven there. 😉 Where I got the idea!!

I use the Goddess Enchantment Oracle Cards available on the iTunes App Store for free, naturally, you’ll have to pay to unlock the full deck and other bennies! But trust me, it’s worth it! I use this app a lot! :)The app is also available for Android! The Goddess Enchantment Oracle Cards by Carrie Kirkpatrick deck is available on Amazon!

What the App logo looks like! 😉 Very Subtle-one would never know this is a Pagan/Wiccan App!

A screenshot from my iPad. 🙂

I also like that I can email myself my reading! Because once you close the app you lose it! I don’t always remember to add to the journal option. I prefer to email it! That way it can be read on the computer in front of me at work! woohoo! 😀

20.  What divination methods do I use and why those methods?

I use a pendulum. I have a variety of them, some for my collection, others for use and my newest one that I really like- just has a good vibe to it! 😉 Hard to explain to those that can’t feel crystals. That’s what annoys some owners at the New Age stores, I have to hold a crystal and feel it.  Patrick’s gotten used to this and distracts the owners from being upset at me. Now if a crystal says “Don’t Touch” I don’t touch! Duh!

My pretty Chakra Pendulum
lots of dust on its pouch at the moment, JiJi likes rubbing up against it. I let him, kitty vibes don’t hurt it.

I also use tarot cards. I have right now, three decks. I use two of them, the third I haven’t used at this time. One is my personal deck, it stays in its pouch (I made it) unless I’m doing a special reading.

The other one was given to me as a gift one Samhain, and this is the one I use for public readings.

The third Patrick bought me a year or so ago, The Justice League Tarot and I haven’t used it all yet.

There is a deck that I had to get rid of when I first started out. It was a gift and I found out why the person gave it to me, for the same reason I had to get rid of it. But I didn’t give it to someone else, that would’ve been cruel. A few decks are not meant to be handled by people that are not of that specific tradition.  The Golden Dawn deck is not meant for everyone to use! One of the members, Aleister Crowley is someone I don’t admire nor respect! In fact, I think I had to burn that deck!  I would never burn a book or any other tarot deck, but this deck just felt bad! Needless to say, when I destroyed that deck, I felt better and some things changed for the Good!

19.  What Pagan book am I reading now? What is it about?

Currently, with my health issues, I have been resting which includes not reading. I’ve been listening to music and watching movies, etc. But not reading. I have a whole bunch of books that I will be re-reading soon. Most of them are about Green Witchcraft. They are written by a third generation Traditional Witch. So I’m looking forward to reading them, we bought them a while ago and they have been sitting in the ‘to be read’ area of the house. 😉

18.  Do I change my altar for the seasons? Why or why not?

This is a good question to answer, I like it!

I have about five altars. Yep, you read that correctly- 5!  One is my personal- never photographed altar and JiJi likes to rub and purr on the Goddesses that reside there! Next is a set altar for peace, balance, and tranquility that is under glass the majority of the time to keep it safe, clean from dust, etcetera. It does not change at all, hence the term it’s a set altar. It’s a spell altar-or an altar that I’ve put a spell on for me! See what it’s for! 😉  Then we have the public altar meaning it’s where the public can see it and thanks to our spell work- no one touches it! 😉 the other two are Patrick’s and then one for the family as a whole! Yep, JiJi was included in it over a year ago, I think he was initially a photo on it with a spell that we would be approved to adopt him!

So our personal altars may or may not change for the seasons. I will add something to my personal altar but will not change the whole thing. The Public altar is changed for the seasons and yet certain elements stay stationary all the time! For example, our cauldron is always the center of the public altar and sometimes it holds the main element or we use it for the flowers or candles! ***a very rude person once didn’t pay attention and actually, put a crack in our cauldron! Well, they didn’t stay with our group for long, they were rude to everyone-touching things that didn’t belong to them. One sure fire way to piss off/annoy a Witch is to touch their stuff! Which is why we have our personal altars that no one sees. I don’t photograph my personal altar- an experienced Witch can use it against you! Yep, what is on your altar reflects a personal aspect of you and that can be used against you!

With that in mind though I’ve found some images on google to share! Because some people have serious misconceptions about what is an altar and what is on one, I’ve been asked if I have blood on mine! Wait, what? Seriously? UH NO! gross!

Up first a simple altar
just the very basics usually a beginners altar

a more comprehensive altar
Usually found with a Wiccan/Pagan that has been doing their craft for a while!

This next example makes my eyes and brain hurt! I don’t know how they can focus on anything!!

A very cluttered altar it’s like a hodgepodge of whatever tickles their fancy or they think should be on their altar. People please, this clutter does nothing for you! It actually can do more harm than good, a cluttered altar equals a cluttered mind and with a mind that can’t focus- guess what will happen to your spells and possibly your day to day life! I could go on and on about this altar and why so many things can go wrong with this person’s life… but it is seriously giving me a migraine just looking at it! GAH!

Recently I’ve been introduced to these cute little mini take it with you altars, just the basics, but you never know when you might want/need to set up. Sometimes it just happens! 😉

here’s the link to some more crafts with altoid tins
because I like miniatures and recycling!

Wow! this is the longest entry I’ve done in this challenge and it took a lot longer than I initially thought it would. I’d say that 85% of that was researching the images on Google! A lot of ppl put a lot of personal stuff in/on their altars! Let me tell ya be glad I’m a nice Witch- I could cause a lot of havoc! Did you know that with a few clicks I can get to the flicker, IG, DA, or Tumblr page you posted this from and from there get your other info! Experienced Witches can cause a lot of damage!

PPL Protect yourself! There are unscrupulous people out there!

17.  What is my favorite Sabbat and why?
(corrected the spelling, Shabbat is a Jewish term)

Well, most ppl will expect me to say Samhain and it is one of my favorites. However being married to a fellow Wiccan my favorite is Midsummer, the year we got married it was on the day of Midsummer- the longest day of the year! Wouldn’t you want the day you get married to last as long as possible, we did!  And it was beautiful in Key West as well! Married on the beach barefoot early in the morning. 🙂

FYI-a male witch is a witch! Warlock is a Hollywood term from the tv show Bewitched. Stop using it, you look stupid to those in the community!

This is the Wheel of the Year, I use! Believe it or not, there are a couple of variations!

16.  What is my favorite myth from my tradition and why?

Huh? As a traditional witch, I haven’t heard of myths from this tradition. But I have heard many annoying myths about Witches as a whole and the green-faced witch is nearly upon us.   I have a love/hate relationship with those images.  I don’t like the old hag images with warts and all! But I’ve somewhat come to terms with the green-faced witch.  But really only if she looks more like this! More like a normal woman! Beautiful and not a scary hag to frighten children with! We’re not evil, we’re not deceitful, and we don’t do half the things fundamentalist xians tell you we do!

And while doing research on this entry to ensure I was correct in my assumption I found this interesting article to share!  Various myths

15.  If I were to take a pilgrimage, where would I go and why?

If this had been asked of me years ago, my answer would’ve been very different. I love the Pacific Northwest and I’ve always wanted to go to British Columbia either Victoria or Vancouver, Canada. I’ve done various research on the areas and they look fascinating! I’ve got some friends that live in Vancouver as well. And from what Wiccan research I’ve done there are a variety of book and other stores to visit. The other research shows that Canadians are more welcoming of the Pagan Community as a whole! Of course, I think Canadians are more welcoming to diversity than any other country! Again a year ago, that thought would’ve been different too!

Financial reasons also play into this and I’ve been researching driving versus train!

Whether it’s for vacation or a Wiccan pilgrimage my heart wants to go to British Columbia, Canada!

14. Are there any courses that I’d like to do in the future? Which ones and why?

This is a reason I miss the Pacific Northwest soo much!! There were always classes, lectures, discussion groups, etcetera! Here in Indiana occasionally a bookstore has an event, but honestly- I’m not into someone talking about Channeling his guardian angel! And Camp Chesterfield in Chesterfield, Indiana used to be a good place to go, until they got greedy! Now, you can’t speak to someone unless you pay first and schedule an appointment. The one Pagan store that was in Muncie went out of business and the cafe that held a Pagan/Wiccan night once a month- stopped after the bookstore went out of business. As to individual’s in this area… some aren’t at the same level as I am and I’m not in the mood to deal argumentative immature ppl right now!

I’d love to have some courses here in Indiana, I’d love to have open nights where one can go and be with others of a like mind. Esp since I live in Footloose (think of the movie at the beginning!) territory!

*yes, this is one of the ones I had in the wrong order-placed in its correct order now! ;)*

13. What are my least favorite spells to do and why?

LOL 😀 Well if they aren’t my favorite why would I do them, answer, I don’t!  If I don’t want to do a spell I don’t!  My spells take a deal of preparation, motivation, and willpower! So I don’t do them all willy-nilly!

Now, how about those annoying questions from ppl that find out I’m a Witch, can you/will you do a love spell, money spell, turn ppl into a Frog? OMG! I’m a witch, not your personal ATM, and love spells, remember and it harms none! so yeah, no! Guess what that person you can’t live without, can live without you and you really can live without them…don’t bind yourself to a crush-1 it’s stupid, 2 it never works out, 3 there’s someone better out there for you! And as to the request to turn someone into a Frog? Really? Why would I do that for someone? I wouldn’t! You have an issue with them, I don’t! Be an adult and go deal with it!!

“An it harm none, do what thou wilt.”

12. What are my favorite type of spells to do and why?

Hmmm, this is a little complicated.  Okay, re-read, favorite type of spells.  I don’t do spells willy-nilly. And they usually take a bit of preparation. So my favorites are the ones I can do *snap* quick. And my favorite is how to get rid of negative/annoying/energy vampires! Usually, the person is all of the above! I have two I can do for this type of person, but mirroring them rarely works! So it’s back to shutting them down and closing myself off!  When at work, I can’t-do this all the time, due to the type of work I do. However, if I’m feeling really drained from them, it’s on! *snap* Benefit to shutting down the person, they lose focus and then I can get to what’s really the issue and work with them. 😉

When out in public you’re vulnerable to energy vampires, negative and annoying ppl. It’s Fall more ppl in the stores now! And it feels good when you shut them out! *snap* Although this time of year, I still make my shopping trips as quick as possible! We go on off hours when we can!

Now I’m not going to share this easy little spell unless ppl want me to. Which means, you’ve got to leave comments! lol 🙂  quid pro quo! 😉

what people think I do.  :O

What I really do. 🙂
